Question about Seagate Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I turned off the computer at night, the next day did not start, you feel the hard disk spins and emits always one click - click, the print head that moves quickly. The computer BIOS sees it very slowly with size = 0MB. Shortly after the clicks of the head end and also the engine seems to Hard disk stops. The hard disk is a Seagate ST3750330AS SN 9QK13532. They lost all the data?

You can take it to a data recovery specialist. They will hook your drive to another computer and try to recover your data. If they cannot access it through this method, then you may have lost everything.

Make sure that the computer has available hard drive space

Printing requires the computer to have a certain amount of available hard drive space to process print jobs and to send them to the printer. Step one: Check the virtual memory settings Virtual memory is the temporary disk space on the hard drive that processes print jobs. It usually requires at least 200 MB of disk space but might require more or less depending on the printer. Insufficient virtual memory might cause the issue. Follow these steps to check and modify the amount of the virtual memory available.
Click Start , right-click My Computer , and then click Properties . Click the Advanced tab. In the Performance section, click Settings . Click the Advanced tab. In the Virtual memory section, click Change . For correct configuration, the Initial size and Maximum size settings must be less than the Space available on the hard drive. If the Space available on the hard drive is less than 200 MB , skip to the next step. Follow the instructions to clear space on the hard drive, and then start these steps over. The Initial size setting is the amount of space reserved for virtual memory on the hard drive. The Initial size setting should be about 200 MB, and greater than or equal to the recommended paging file size shown in the lower section of the dialog box. The Maximum size setting can be any number greater than the Initial size setting, but it should be at least twice the Initial size setting. Change the settings as necessary to conform to the information in this step. Click Set , and then click OK . Try printing again. If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the issue persists , see the next step
Step two: Run Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files Follow these steps to run Disk Cleanup. Click Start , click Programs , click Accessories , click System Tools , and then click Disk Cleanup . Disk Cleanup prompts you to select a drive to clean. Select the hard drive, and then click OK . Disk Cleanup analyzes the hard drive and presents a report. Select the following items from the report: Temporary Internet Files Downloaded Program Files Recycle Bin Temporary Files Click OK . If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the issue persists , see the next step. Step three: Remove unnecessary software programs Follow these steps to remove unnecessary software programs. Click Start , click Settings , click Control Panel , and then click Add/Remove Programs . Select a software program to remove, and then click Add/Remove . Repeat these steps for all software programs you want to remove. If you remove large software programs, run Scan Disk and Defrag on the hard disk drive. Look for these options in the System Tools section of Accessories

Not show in my computer

Did it previously work, but now has stopped working?

Did you try connecting it to a different computer?

Do you feel the drive vibrating, or emitting any heat, or do you hear the drive spinning? Any "clicking" noises?

Be sure that the "data" and "power" cables are tightly connected.

Be sure that the BIOS detection for SATA drives is "enabled".

Read the model-number and serial-number from the printed label,
and access the manufacturer's web-site, and do a "check warranty status",
to see if the manufacturer will replace it, at minimal cost to you.

When I connect my seagate expansion external hard disk 500gb having p/n:9sf2a2-500 in windows xp(sp2) system, found new hardware wizard pops up and when I click next it says Cannot install this hardware....

either an issue with the hard disk, or with your system. Make sure the hard disk has power on it and if you can, it would help to test it on another computer to confirm if it works. If you have ruled out the possibility that it is the hard disk, next is review if the hard disk has system requirements you need to meet. If the requirements are met by your XP SP2 machine, you may try updating the computer's system software/chipset drivers and a BIOS update may also be necessary.

I HAD THE HPLASER JET 1320 INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER, THE COMPUTER CRASHED AND HAD TO BE REBUILT, NOW I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO INSTALL THE PRINTER SO I CAN PRINT

Hi there,

To install the printer you will need to follow these quick, simple steps:
1) Click "Start"
2) Click "Printers and Faxes" (or you might have to click "Control Panel" and then click "Printers and Faxes")
3) Click "Add a printer"
4) Click "Next"
5) Select your preferred option
6) Click "Next"

The following steps only apply if you do not have a Plug 'n Play printer:
7) Insert the install disk, which came with the printer when purchased, into your computer
8) Select the location of your driver (CD Rom or Location on Hard Disk)
9) Click "Next" and your printer should be installed!

Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution.

Warm regards,

Hello

If you turn on the drive can you feel that the drive starts spinning? Can you feel movement and see a light flickering?

Does your computer acknowledge that there is something plug in when you plug in the Drive? Does it give you a notification, or does it make a sound?

If so, then this simple setting just might fix your problem.
Just follow these steps and you should be set.
Go to:

Start
Control panel
Administrative tools
Computer management
Storage
Disc management

Now you should see your drive in the schematic below.
Right click on the drive and choose to change the drive letter and paths.
Now click on change and change the current drive letter. If there is no drive letter assigned, assign one.

However, if the drive does not spin at start up, there is something wrong with your HDD.
Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards
Andrea

Sounds to me like your computer is over heating, I would take off the side panel and then start the computer and watch the fans on the cpu, the power supply, and the case. I would bet one of them is not turning and it is over heating.
