How to set freezer on LG Bottom Freezer LRFD22850

Hello Fran Miller,

For OPENERS... (my opinion)
always start by setting you temperatures at mid range.

Owners manual... Page 16
Setting the controls 16 - 17 Adjusting control settings...

I get a little PUSHY about FOOD TEMERATURES...
(stored poorly there's no quicker way of poisoning ones self)...

I strongly recommend getting TAYLOR refrig/freezer
THERMOMETERS (like Amazon... cheap = $6 ea).

Let the refrigerator stabilize EMPTY 24 HOURS
Loaded with food (not recommended: 72 hours).

ADJUSTING CONTROL SETTINGS
Give the refrigerator time to cool down completely before adding food. It is best to wait 24 hours before you put food into the refrigerator. The mid-settings indicated in the previous section should be correct for normal household refrigerator usage. The controls are set correctly when milk or juice is as cold as you like and when ice cream is firm.

Hope I am helping

Any maintenance issues on a taylor 430 frozen drink machine

The Taylor 430 is a solid machine. The only maintenance you need to worry about are:
1. Cleaning - Follow the instructions. Supplies are here.
2. Replace wear parts - Scraper Blades and Tune-up kit

The next most purchased part for that machine is the freezer door, but the good news is the new replacement is much stronger than the old ones.

The nidek #ET22DM is making a loud whining sound from the motor...I have unplugged appliance. Belive appliance is about 15 to 16 years old.

Part number 482731 is the motor in the freezer and can be replaced for a reasonable price by any qualified service technician. If you choose to make the repair yourself, the part can be purchased by calling Marcone Appliance Parts at 1-800-482-6022. *******Remeber to unplug the refrigerator prior to making the repair.
