  1. <Start>, <Control Panel>, <Printer and Faxes>
  2. Locate your printer
  3. Right Click your printer icon Select <Properties>
  4. Choose the <Maintenece> Tab
  5. Choose <Clean> or <Deep Clean
Deep is best as older printers used to recommend 5 cleanings; your printer's Deep Clean feature, does that for you. Wait until you have time, it may need a second cleaning a may take up to 10 - 15 minutes.

You may also remove the print catridge(s) wipe clean the bottom, (where the ink is released, called "jets" but looks more like a screen (because there Are screens covering the jets) using an alcohol pad or bottled alcohol but be sure to use a lint free cloth, you may also wipe down the bronze colored "contacts" as well.

No Cartridges. Open Scanner cover, then reinstall ink cartridge. All Cartridges are full

Hi there,
No Cartridge will show on the display if the machine cannot recognize one of the cartridge or one of the ink is empty.
To make sure about the real issue unplug the mach from the power outlet then plug it back in after 10 seconds.
If the display show: "ink empty C" it means the cyan/blue needs to be replace. "ink empty M" it means the magenta/pink needs to be replace. "ink empty BK" it means that the black needs to replace. If the display shows "ink empty Y" it means that yellow needs to be replace.
Even if it looks like the cartridge is full, it really needs to be replace so that the machine will work again.
Hope this helps. Rate if it works. Thanks

Will the cartidge box move if cartridges are empty?

Hi,
For your information obviously the cartridges will move while you turn on the printer or give a print job if the cartridges are full or empty, but it will not print and will show a massage that "cartridge are empty" or "Ink level is too low". If there is any stuck on the way of movement then the cartridge will not move.

Epson c88 shows ink out in all four cartridges but they are full

Are they "original" Epson ink-cartridges, or have they been refilled? Often, the refilled cartridges will show as "empty", but they work, until they _do_ get empty.

Printer (HP5650) has full ink cartridges.window sez almost empty

That is normal, the printer "sees" the cartridges by their serial number, so when you pop in a refilled cartridge, the printer thinks you have put in old cartridges and continue to show low ink level. When you pop in a new one, with a new serial code, the ink level will reset, showing that the cartridges are full again.
You can try this:
1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again.
Doesn't always work, but you can try.

There is a chip on your cartridge that communicates with the printer to estimate how much ink is left in the cartridge. When the chip thinks the cartridge is empty it will refuse to print any more pages no matter how much ink is left in the cartridge. These cartridges are only estimated to print "up to 840 4" x 6" photos, or 80 13" x 19" photos." If it showed half full yesterday and then you put through a large print job it is very likely the cartridge is empty. In any case once the chip thinks it's empty the cartridge needs to be replaced.

I had a refilled canon cartridge for the MP 610 printer It now says cartridge is not recognised and shows it empty although its full

That is correct. Canon refills always show as empty. You will have to wait until the cartrdge runs out of ink before you know it is indeed empty.

Ink levels are not responding.

Did you buy a brand new or remanufactured/refilled cartridge? Some cartridges will show empty, even when full.

They want you to buy brand new, brand name ink!
