Things to try:

1. Check if your monitor is turned on.
2. Turn your monitor's Brightness and Contrast settings to the highest.
3. Try replacing your monitor's cable a with a new one.

How far into the boot-up process is visible to you?

If you can not see anything right after booting/starting your computer, then the problem is most likely your hardware (motherboard or video card). You might need to replace them.

If you can see the boot-up details at start, then the screen goes dark when Windows loads, there's a problem with your Windows installation or your video drivers.

Try the next step if the previous one didn't work:
    1) Boot in Safe Mode. If Windows loads properly, then one of your start-up programs is the culprit and you need to uninstall/disable it.
    2) Reinstall video drivers.
    3) Use System Restore. Restore a previous configuration that worked.
    4) If all else fails, try reinstalling the operating system.

Hello try to download a user guide here:

By selecting your pc model.

Try to renew the power supply, or try to boot with one ram stick at the time.

Was it a lightning that cause the problem ??

If so the mainboard could have died.

Good luck

Dell demension 2350 shuts down after a couple minutes what is wrong?

The most likely situation is a file error in the windows boot up process. Try booting the computer in safe mode (press the f8 key after the post screen, and selection menu will come up, sellect safe mode). If it does not boot this way, you could try a boot repair (since you did not list tthe brand model of computer, it is hard to direct you on this course). Most likely you will have to do a full restore to clear the error. This of course will remove all software, data that was not installed on the computer out of the box.

Our computer monitor is not coming up. how can we tell if the monitor is bad or something else is wrong?

The most obvious way to tell is to swap out the monitor. If the new one works, the old one probably has a problem.
When you say "is not coming up" I assume you never see a thing on it. I would ask--do you hear the system beep once indicating that it has passed the POST? If not (and it always did), then I would suspect that since it hasn't passed its own diagnostics, you will never get a signal on the monitor.
I suggest disconnecting everything on the computer but the video, memory, and CPU (you can leave the mouse and keyboard connected).
If the system starts and displays something (most likely you will see a message indication no boot device), then you can assume you have a problem with a piece of the hardware.
Also, if you hear a series of beeps, they will help you troubleshoot.

My e machine shuts down unexpectedly.

It could be a virus that your anti viral software isn't picking up. you could try to change your settings so that you boot from a disk and your drives are set as slaves( by changing the jumpers on the back of the drive, all info on a little sticker) and run an updated anti virus program. Also, if it turns out your drives are not going to play and you have a back up of your system, format the drive and start over. hope this helps, if not, sorry ;)

Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 short beep codes on cold boot. Tried reseating RAM, didn't help. system runs fine after beeping stops

Using the manual for the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 MB. Go to page 71 & you'll see bios beep codes for your board: AWARD BIOS Beep Codes 1 short: System boots successfully 2 short: CMOS setting error 1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error 1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error 1 long 3 short: Keyboard error 1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error Continuous long beeps: DRAM error Continuous short beeps: Power error As you can see there isn't a code for three short beeps. When you boot your system try to pause your boot up screen. See if the bios is reporting the correct total of memory in your system. Bios codes from the link below. 3 beeps for the AMI bios code reports Base 64K RAM failure. You can test your memory. Go to Scroll down the site to just under the three screen shots. Download Memtest86+ V2.11 You have a choice in making a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Once completed you boot your system to the testing program. Memtest will check your system memory. This should help. Thanks for using FixYa! Mike

Gateway lcd monitor

First, narrow down the problem to either the monitor, or to the computer itself. Either try the monitor on a spare or friend's computer, or try a known working monitor on your computer. I'd guess your computer is where the issue is at- it isn't booting the Operating System (MS XP or whatever O/S is present on the hard disk. if the computer is the issue, try booting from the CD which came with the computer, (assuming you have that CD). Or, you could see if some computer tech savvy person has a bootable floppy diskette. Basically a "no-boot" problem, can point to a number of problems: hardware issue (bad hard drive etc.), or an operating system problem.
