Make sure the freezer dial is in the middle (12 O'clock) position if it has one
If it is turned too far towards the right it will cut off all air flow to the refrigerator
compartment, the air flow from the freezer cools the lower compartment. Also make sure
the fan is running, if it has failed then the freezer will freeze up and block all air flow.

The refrigerator compartment has a cold control as well, it is normally turned toward
the right to make it colder or if it has numbers, set to 5 or above.

I recommend setting the refrigerator to 36 to 39 degrees (just above freezing). using a
thermometer (stick type set in a cup of water overnight to get an accurate reading).
It is the preferred method, and will help in this instance since the numbers aren't legible.
Hope this helps.

My fridge not cold enough

If you have turned the dial up as high as it can go "9" and it still is not cold enough, you will need to have some freon added. There is not to much to a fridge. Best of luck.

when working on a fridge or freezer always turn it off at the wall
if the fridge is keep cold but not cold enough set it back to say 3
if the compressor is running and the back fins / wall is hot then the fridge is working
use a piece of paper between the door seal and the fridge edge to ensure that it is sticking to the fridge and sealing off properly

I think it's the freezer fan that stopped working, open the freezer and see if it goes you should hear it running and even see. This fan allows the cold air into the fridge compartment, without it it takes ages for the fridge to get cold.I've got the same problem if you find the motor online let me know on alvalen31@hotmail.com

With the dial set to the coldest setting it doesnt get very cold it does a little but not enough to keep food from spoiling in about two days

How old is your appliance?
I don't think is safe to keep storing food in the appliance as you may get sick for food poisoning.

This may be caused by a dirty condenser. You may need to clean the back of the fridge. Be sure to remove dust and other particles that may keep the appliance working improperly. If you have the fridge installed outside - the garage, for example - put a fan to blow some air to the back of the fridge.

Candy Fridge - The freezer part is not cold enough, fridge ok!

A couple of things to check-
- Is the condensor cooling fan running? This will be located to push air through the external cooling coils, wherever they are located.
- Does the auto-defrost timer work? It may have failed and stayed in a position that has left the heating elements (for defrosting) turned on.
- Does it seem to be running way too long and not turning off as it once did? This could indicate either a loss of coolant (would need recharge and leak detection) or the compressor is reaching its end of life. If the latter is the problem, expect a cost of $200-$400 US.

Temperature adjustment

Generally the freezer temp is the REAL temp of the unit. Fans, dampers and manual control levers let some of that cold freezer air into the refer compartment to cool it. Check your owners manual for damper operations if you have one. If you have a refer temp control all that does is control a damper to let the cold freezer air into the compartment. Also make sure you don't block off any of those vents in the refer or freezer compartment or bad air circulation can occur.
