Question about Bosch Washing Machines

Bosch WVD24520GB/01 is not progressing to the next step during washes. You have to manually select rinse and spin etc. I think the main pcb may need replacing but cannot find the part online anywhere. The numbers on the PCB are ako 7202 48-02, bsh 5560008596b. Can anyone help?

The front display shows a count down of the wash cycle and it gets all the way to the end, where it shows 1 minute remaining and then it remains on 1 minute - it never actually completes. I've checked the filter

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Are you sure that it's not a blocked filter causing the problems?
Just in case-
----------------
I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking filters and motors ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Thanks John, I'll check the filter then. I have removed the PCB and visually checked it and there are no signs of blown components so its possible that it isnt the circuit. I'll let you know if the filter is blocked. I'm hoping its not the board as I finally found the part on the bosch website and its 170 quid!

About the fault, it doesnt lock up or stop, it just carrys on washing when its supposed to stop washing and move on to the next cycle. The time bar shows it should be at the end of the wash

The front display shows a count down of the wash cycle and it gets all the way to the end, where it shows 1 minute remaining and then it remains on 1 minute - it never actually completes. I've checked the filter but its all clear. Any ideas?

  • dnt_bug_me Mar 12, 2011

if you turn the dial manually onto rinse or drain etc it does it fine. It just doesnt complete the program end automatically.

  • dnt_bug_me Mar 12, 2011

On the rinse cycle you hear a relay click during the last minute at the end and it completes, but at the end of the wash programs there isnt a click - so maybe one of the relays isnt working?

if this machine is a new one with digital control mechanism then i think that only a authorised dealer can sort it out for you as like a europeon car the software is encrypted as this is to stop our retired man in france from repairing them ,Also this old cockney in eastern spain as well from repairing them .

Oko 72630. Why is it stuck on rinse cycle?

Could be several reasons:
- Selected the "Night cycle" program (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: too much noise in the spin cycle)
- Set to the "Rinse hold" (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: wrinkles on the clothes)

According to your description I think that this is not a failure otherwise error E20 will be appears on display.

Once the washing programme has come to an end, END illuminates on the programme progress display.
If RINSE HOLD was selected, the display beside the START/ PAUSE button flashes.
1. After a rinse hold, the water must first be pumped out:
- Either press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun according to the completed programme;
After the START/PAUSE button is pressed again, the spin speed can still also be changed during spinning), or
- Turn the programme selector to PUMP OUT and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out without spinning),or
- Turn the programme selector to SPIN or SHORT SPIN and press theSTART/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun or gently spun).
At the end of this programme step, the END indicator will illuminate.
2. Open the door.
As soon as the DOOR indicator lights up green, the door can be opened.

Are you on a delicates program that has no spin or is there a no spin button that has been pressed?
Check the manual to see what programs do what. You can usually find a manual on line if you have lost yours.

How come my bosch WA20261AU makes loud vibrating sound and its hot inside?

Hi Yvemarie,
Based on what I searched about the machine that you have where in the beep noise can only be hear at the end of the cycle not during the cycle. And also that noise can lower down and I will provide you steps on how to do that. It seems to me also that there is some kind of an issue on your machine since you said there was steaming and smoking happening, right? If the steps I will provide below works and still doing the same thing I guess you need to have that machine serviced.
    • 1 Press and hold the "Select" button on the electric display until the acoustic signal symbol, which looks like a small speaker-phone, is illuminated on the display.
    • 2 Continue to hold down the "Select" button until the system cycles through "Continuous", "Max" and then "Off" settings.
    • 3 Release the "Select" button when "Off" is highlighted next to the acoustic symbol. The signal noise is now turned off on the washer.

My bosch wfk 2401 when i start the wash everything is fine then after a couple of minutes it starts beeping the error code 01. i have checked to make sure the filters are cleaned out and that the water...

Hello and welcome to fixya.

I'll start by saying you're right the "01" error code is indicating a fill problem has been detected by the control.

Have you tried just a "cold" water wash ? If not try selecting "quick wash" and on the dial turn it to #1 "cold" in the cotton setting see what happens. Do the same and select #3 "hot". If the error occurs in one and not the other, observe and either focus on the hot water valve or the cold main wash valve ( I don't think it is the cold prewash valve or the error would occur immediately ).

In fact I suspect it is the main wash cold valve ( dual valve ) since you haven't indicated the error occurs during prewash and the hot water valve is energized in prewash by design to help rinse out the detergent no matter what cycle or temp. you selected.

Having said all that, here's what you're dealing with. Even though you appear to have sufficient water flow as you stated you checked for, the electronic control doesn't think it is correct.
There are several factor's which could possibly be causing this error, a couple you've mentioned.

They are...

Water supply turned off. ( obviously not in this case )

Water inlet hose filters (strainers/screens) blocked. ( you've said you cleaned them out )

Water pressure too low. ( must be no lower than 14.5psi and a max. of 145psi )

Water inlet valve(s) has failed. ( this doesn't appear likely...at least at first, not completely failed based on your description...but the control may think it has. If you have an ohm meter you can check it. the coils should have a value of between 2.7 and 3.3k ohms. That means 2700ohms and 3300ohms. If not within those values the control will detect the value being incorrect , hence displaying the "01" error. Change the valve, Bosch part # 265772, or repairclinic.com # 467537.
The Hot water valve if need be is Bosch part # 171295 or repairclinic.com # 423900 )

Control module has failed. ( Not very likely either...but possible...if not the valves. )

Let me know what you find as I will watch for your reply here. Thanks for visiting "fixya". Please take a moment and rate the info provided for you here today.

Let me know if you require further assistance.

Thanks and good luck.

Bosch washer spin only

Had a repair man here for the same issue. Learned two things:

1. Too much detergent causes 'soap lock.' The electronics will get confused when there's too many suds left after a rinse and shut the spin cycle down. That's why re-running the entire cycle without more detergent solves the problem. Use less detergent.

2. There is a way to manually get the spin cycle to run using diagnostics codes. Here's what my guy did:

a. Washer selection knob in OFF position.
b. Hold the 'Spin Selection' and 'Delay Start' buttons down at the same time.
c. While holding those two buttons, turn the Washing selector knob to Permanent Press-Cold.
d. Keep the buttons held down until the LCD control panel reads 'P:01'
d. Release buttons.
e. Use the 'Spin Selection' button to cycle thru the codes. Stop when it reads 'P:04' which is the spin cycle.
f. Press 'Start/Pause' button to begin the spin cycle.

I don't know what the other codes do but this should save you from having to run the entire wash cycle.

Hope that helps! Tim
