SOURCE: nintendo wii error message.

Usually this error happens when the console is dirty or the drive needs to be replaced... try cleaning the unit with a cd cleaner and a can of air... also check to see if any other cds work in the unit... if not then replace the DVD drive

SOURCE: I can't connect my controller

  • Turn on your Wii console. While on the HOME screen, press any button on the Wii Remote.
  • If the 4 squares on the bottom remain dark, change the batteries (or for a rechargeable Wii Remote, place it on the charger for a while).
  • If the 4 squares blink blue, then stop, your Wii Remote is not synced. Press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time. This should connect your Wii Remote if it's been synced before.
  • If your 4 squares still blink blue, then stop, these last steps will do the trick. First, on the front of the Wii console, just underneath the disc slot, there is a small panel that opens down. Open it and press the small red button.
  • Open the battery panel of your Wii Remote and press the small red button. Replace the battery panel and observe the blinking blue lights. If 3 stop blinking, and 1 remains lit blue, your Wii Remote is synced with your console.

My Wii will not let you insert any discs.

Discs Eject on Their Own
Situation:

Game disc is ejecting on its own

Applies To: All Games

Important!

If the game disc is ejecting on its own, this could indicate a problem with the disc or with the disc drive.

What To Do:

If you are experiencing this problem while attempting to play a Nintendo GameCube Game Disc, check the model number on your Wii console. Only Wii consoles with model number RVL-001 are compatible with Nintendo GameCube Game Discs. (learn more)
If the issue is occurring with all games or all of one type of game (Wii or GameCube), this indicates a problem with the system. To begin the repair process, click here.

The wii won't read the disc

Situation:
  • System displays either error message "Unable to read disc" or "Disc could not be read"

What to do:
  • This message may display if the disc is ejected during play. Return to the HOME Menu before changing discs.

  • If the Wii console is laying flat, verify that the system is not placed upside-down. The game disc slot should be above all three buttons and the SD Card slot.

  • Verify that the disc is being inserted properly.
    • If the console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right. Note: Only Wii consoles with model number RVL-001 are intended to be placed vertically (learn more)

    • If the console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards.

  • If the problem occurs with only one game disc, there may be a problem specific to that game. Click here to check our list of specific game issues.

Situation Not Resolved:
  • If only one Game Disc displays this error message, it will need to be replaced. Click here for Game Disc replacement options

  • If the error is occurring with most or all Game Discs or all of one type of game, then this indicates a problem with the system. The console and one or two example discs will need to be sent in for repair. Click here to begin the repair process.

Our one is less than 1 year old. The screeen says 'An error has occured, eject the disc turn off the console and consult the trouble shooting section of the operations manual' What do we do? Model...

This is an extremely common problem with the Wii. The disc drives in them had quite a high failure rate and it sounds like yours has this. Because the Wii is under 1 year old it is still covered under Nintendo's guarantee and if you contact them they should replace it free of charge.

Sometimes this can also be caused by dirty discs, just make sure they are all really clean as the Wii disc drive laser is very sensitive to dirt.

Hope this helps

I can't get the hand to show up on the screen. Wii fit nintendo 2006 model model # rvl-001(USA)

Check to make sure your light-bar is plugged in securely (the thin sliver bar that you put on top or below your TV). The wire for this is quite thin, so make sure there are no punctures and cuts in it. I hope this helps!
