Your battery is perhaps out of charge. verify it is holding charge.
The Dell Inspiron 15r n5110 battery appears to be notorious.
Check step 5 in the video below.
For the newer ones that have the battery on the bottom, look on the battery for a little white rectangle with 5 lights on it. There will be a button next to them. Push it. The lights will come on. The number of lights will give you an estimation on how much it has left.5-Full. 4-80%. 3-60%. 2-40%. 1-20%. None-0%. If it is a half, the lights will stay on and the last one will blink. 4+1=90%. 3+1=70%. 2+1=50%. 1+1 =30%.

Please go ahead and power off this system and when you power it on at the Dell logo, keep tapping the F2 key repeatedly for 3-4 times this will take you to the system set up. Please check the AC adapter type and Battery health under Advance tab.

Please follow the steps below within operating system (assuming windows) and let us know the status:
1.Click on start button and navigate to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound\Power Options
2.In the left pane of the window, Click on "Dell Battery Meter"
3.Click on "Battery Life " tab
4.Click on "Disable Battery Charging" and click OK
5.Reboot your laptop.

How to Recalibrate a battery

SYMPTOMS- Short discharges and recharges do not fully synchronize the battery's fuel gauge with the battery's state-of-charge. This can result in the amount of power available in one cycle being less than expected or the battery meter being inaccurate.
Under normal usage, batteries should be calibrated a minimum of once every 3 months. Your battery can be calibrated by following these steps:

I - Disable the Windows Power Management

1. In Windows, right-click the Desktop and select Properties in the menu list.
2. Click the Screen Saver tab and then click the Power button.
3. Under Power schemes, select Always On in the drop down menu.
4. Under Settings for Always On power scheme, select Never in each of the drop down menus.
5. Click OK on the Power Options Properties window and then click OK on the Display Properties window.

II - Fully charge the battery

1. Connect the AC adapter to the notebook.
2. Charge the battery until the Windows battery meter is at 100%.

III - Fully discharge the battery

1. Remove the AC adapter.
2. Keep the notebook on until the battery has completely drained and the notebook automatically turns off.
3. Connect the AC adapter to the notebook.
4. Keep the AC adapter connected to the notebook until the battery has completely charged.

IV - Enable the Windows Power Management

1. In Windows, right-click the Desktop and select Properties in the menu list.
2. Click the Screen Saver tab and then click the Power button.
3. Under Power schemes, select Portable/Laptop in the drop down menu.
4. Click OK on the Power Options Properties window and then click OK on the Display Properties window.

You should first try to recalibrate the notebook and battery using the following steps: (this should be done every three months also as short charges and discharges really mess it up and will give you a false reading)

Step 1 - Disable the Windows Power Management

In Windows, right-click the Desktop and select Properties in the menu list.
Click the Screen Saver tab and then click the Power button.
Under Power schemes, select Always On in the drop down menu.
Under Settings for Always On power scheme, select Never in each of the drop down menus.
Click OK on the Power Options Properties window and then click OK on the Display Properties window.

Step 2 - Fully charge the battery

Connect the AC adapter to the notebook.
Charge the battery until the Windows battery meter is at 100%.

Step 3 - Fully discharge the battery
Remove the AC adapter.
Keep the notebook on until the battery has completely drained and the notebook automatically turns off.
Connect the AC adapter to the notebook.
Keep the AC adapter connected to the notebook until the battery has completely charged.

Step 4 - Enable the Windows Power Management

In Windows, right-click the Desktop and select Properties in the menu list.
Click the Screen Saver tab and then click the Power button.
Under Power schemes, select Portable/Laptop in the drop down menu.
Click OK on the Power Options Properties window and then click OK on the Display Properties window.

Now...
If you go into Control Panel, Power Options, and select the Power Meter tab, what does it say?

If you are still having issues, then do the following and then go back through the recalibration process:

Try going into Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management then down to devices and there should be an entry for batteries. Select that and right click to select scan for hardware changes.

My creative zen won't charge or turn on

Hi,

To resolve this problem, establish that the player is charging correctly as follows:
  1. Connect the player to a USB port on the back of a desktop PC, to a powered hub, or to a power adapter (separately available).
  2. Check the display for the charging icon battery_ac_charge_1.jpg.
    • As the display times out after a few seconds, press any button on the player to reactivate the display.
    • If the battery is fully depleted, the charging icon may not be displayed.Cupthe player in your hands to check that the blue power LED behindthePlay/Pause and Options buttons is glowing on and off repeatedly. This indicates that the player is successfully charging. After 1 hour of charging, power on the unit to activate the display. The charging icon should be displayed.
  3. Allow the player to charge for at least 6 hours. During this time, if charging from a USB port, please ensure your PC does not enter a power conservation mode (Standby, Sleep, or Hibernate) as this will interrupt charging.
Ifthe player does not indicate a charge, or will not power on afteratleast 6 hours of charging, please contact Customer Support.
