Dear, before you get in touch with Sony technical support you may want to try to use the PS3 recovery options. The PS3 stores a copy of firmware drivers on the hard-drive and will reload any corrupt files. To access the recovery menu, do this: Make sure the PS3 is turned off Press and hold the power button on the PS3 it will power on then power off. When it's off press and hold the power button again until you hear two consecutive beeps. When you hear the double beeps immediately take your finger off the power button (if your system turns off before you get a double beep just try again and hold the button, it should double beep the 2nd time you try) It will ask for the controller to be connected via the USB cable, Turn on the controller and you will have access to the menu. Be aware that you may lose all of your previously saved data.

When i turn on my playstation3 it shows the ps3 logo when loading up but doesnt come up with the sign in menu or anything?

try restoring your ps3. turn the switch on teh back off then on. then put your finger on teh power button until you hear three beeps. ( not including the one you hear when pressin the power button.) right after the third beep let go and it will turn off. then try again. after the power beep listen for one beep then after that a double beep. it will show a menu of options. pick restore ps3 then quick format. *ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE DELETED BUT ITS THE ONLY OPTION!
