Hello, I guess what you meant is "doesN'T" play. Chances are your video is encoded in divx format, which needs to be downloaded from their website http://www.divx.com/ For a complete video player that can read pretty much anything, use VLC Media player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Both these softwares are free of use
Have a nice day!

It say unknow format when i put on things

Your problem may be that your Coby MP601 does not support the file format of the file that you are trying to put on it.
They Coby MP 601 only accepts the following formats: Audio- MP3, WMA Video- MTV, MP4 Still Image (Pictures)- JPG
Check your file. If the three letters after the period do not match one of those letters above, the file format is not supported by this MP3 player. For example, an image title may be "IMG00658.JPG", but not "IMG00658.GIF".
To change file formats, there are hundreds of file converters that you can find on download.com for audio, video, and images. Once you have the correct file format, you should have no problem putting it on your Coby MP601 MP3 player.
Hope this helped.

Why does my mp3 player say unknow format?

Because you are trying to play the wrong format for your MP3 player.
Check your documentation to find out what format to use for your player and use that format it calls for.
I will also give you a website to go to and download a format converter so you can convert your files to the ones that will play on your machine.

Watching videos from sd card.

Well, you did not specify the format of the videos you would like to watch... Are they MP4, 3GP, DivX, XVid, WMV, Flash Video? There are dozens of different video file formats out there...

I would recommend you to download TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player) from:

http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/

latest version is: 0.72RC1

It is a free player that supports a great deal of video formats on the pocket pc and it is your best bet to play most of the video formats available on the internet.

You can even associate all video formats with this player so that each time you click on them TCPMP is started automatically to play them.

Hope this helps.

Suitable file format for your phone are 3gp, mp4, mpg, etc except wmv. WMV files cannot be opened by this model. If you really want to play it on you phone you must convert this file first. i suggest converting it into mp4 or 3gp. It the only way to play the video in your phone.
