Question about Refrigerators
There are two fans in the refrigerator. One in freezer as well as one is fridge section.Check both the fans are they running. In some cases both fan gets faulty and this causes the problem, and in some cases only one fan stops working.Due to this fans stops working the internal temp gets bit heated and due to this the thermostat beeps and this red and green led blinks.
So first thing to be checked is fan.
Many a times the fan just stops working, due to frost getting build on the coils in the freezer section. This ice frost blocks the fan blade to spin and this requires defrost to melt the ice.
If there is frost build up then manually defrost this ice.----
The excessive ice build up on the side of the evaporator coil (which is in the back of the freezer compartment behind the rear plastic panel). To defrost the coil, remove all the drawers in the freezer, and the plastic insert by pulling out the bottom of the panel out and rotating it upwards until it released at the top. There are a couple of snap-in tabs holding the panel in, so with a bit of pulling they released. The tabs are either side of the slot at the bottom of the panel.
Then supported the panel horizontally on the top shelf so that you didn't have to disconnect the thermostat wire and the circulating fan wire.
With a small fan heater set on low, aimed roughly at the ice build-up on the left hand side of the evaporator coil, defrosted the ice built up. ----------------- In the user manual it says as follows:---- When the fresh food compartment door is opened a fault code (specific pattern of lights) will flash red and green on the Control panel to alert you to the fault. The audible alarm will stop when any button is pressed but the lights will remain flashing. If such a fault occurs, call your Fisher & Paykel Appliances Authorised Service Centre immediately; the fault code will help the executive to check what is faulty. But check the fan in both sections before calling the service centers. In most cases this fans stops working. ------------- The service center address:---- In Singapore If You Need Assistance...* Please call our Fisher & Paykel Service line.
