V3x minor water damage - no signal and no SIM recognition
My V3x was sitting on charger on bench top when 5 y.o. splashed water about. Phone stayed on charger sitting in puddle and when discovered cleaned it with PCB solvent and dried out fully. Now boots OK but says emergency calls only (no SIM card will work) and there is no signal strength on the indicator. Fixable? Thanks. Mark.

Re: V3x minor water damage - no signal and no SIM...
Well the only possible solution by us was to allow the mobile to dry for 2- 3 days and may be clean the mobile with alchol lighlty..It should get to work after this..But now as you say it doesnt recognise the sim card so now i will recommend you to take the mobile to a Motorola service centre as the sim card sensor might have got damaged due to the water splash on it!..Do claim you warranty if you have one..!! Thank you

I dropped my in the bath tub giving my little girl a bath. I pulled the back cover and battery out and sat it upside down, back faceing up, under a lap and turned it over every hour. The next morning put the battery in and closed it up, no problems - till the next time it went swimming and had to repete the process.
you can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried
I had the same problem!! This might help: 1. Take out the battery, SIM card, and memory card (if applicable). 2. Let the phone sit in the sun for a couple of days. 3. Put the SIM card back in the phone and plug the phone charger into the phone. 4. When prompted, insert the battery into the phone 5. When battery is fully charged, remove the charger and depress the call button simultaneously.
I tired this and the phone is now working!!! Also, I do not seem to have lost any of the features!
i am having the same problem with my phone. after using a tester it seems that the board itself is faulty. i have tried a new battery, charger and still no luck... current seems to not be flowing to certain transitors. Fuck you motorola
