What an utterly useless phone. I remember when we first got them it took about an hour to get them to work. Now I've purchased another handset and it can't find the base - moreover - it won't do ANYTHING until it does find the base so I can't go in and reset it to factory defaults (though it came from the factory... so theoretically it should register with the default "0000" code as I've never changed it for any of the other phones. I'm done with this abomination. I gave my wife the choice of returning the whole system or letting me take a hand-sledge to it on the floor of the garage... her choice. Personally, I think it would be well worth the few hundred dollars to beat it into several hundred small pieces and mail it back to Philips headquarters. F(-) Worst consumer electronic product I've ever owned. Oh, by the way - the prefix feature is not only useless but breaks the user model. It's the 21st century, Philips - not all calls to the same area code require a 1... it's distance based. So, when you capture a local call and put a 1 at the end of it (or a distance call and remove the 1) I can't call that number back without writing it down on a piece of paper and re-dialing it by hand ... sort of defeats the purpose of caller ID callback, doesn't it? Just capture the d*n number as it comes in. It's pretty flippin simple. Finally - the voice enhancer actually makes the sound quality worse... less legible - and unpleasantly harsh. What were you people thinking? My God. I could get a better phone from a Hong Kong street vendor.

How do i add another handset "uniden 6.0" phone to an existing phone and base unit of the same brand.I need the step-by-step instructions please. thank you!

First make to get a compatible handset.

For the Uniden D1660-2, the compatible handsets are DCX160 and DWX337. Make sure that you have not exceeded the number of handsets that the phone can support. The D1660-2 can support 12 handsets unless you use any DWX337 handsets. Then the limit is 6. (If you have more handsets, you will need to deregister some of them first.) Then allow the handset to charge. If the handset is reading "not registered", then place it into the base unit. You should see "Handset Registering" for about 30 seconds; then it will read Registration Complete. The manual for the Uniden D1660-2 is available here: http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/D1660-2om.pdf . This is the most common Registration for Uniden phones; there are a few exceptions (depending on the base or the replacement handset). Check the appropriate manual (see below to find the manuals).

For the DECT4096, press Menu on the base and then navigate to Handset Register. When you see Handset Registering on the base display, press and hold # on the handset to be registered until you see Handset Registering. (It takes about 2 seconds.) After the display changes to Handset Registered, check for dial tone.

On a few Uniden phones, there is a Page/Handst Register button on the base. On those you navigate through the Handset menu to Handset Register (Menu > Handset menu > Handset Registration). Then press and hold the Page button until you hear a beep. Then wait for the registration to be completed.

Most Uniden manuals are available here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl . Select your type of Uniden phone and scroll through the list to your model or use the search box to directly search for your phone and the manual.

I hope this helps.

One of the handsets of my Dect telephone can not be registrated anymore.

On my phillips phones you first have to "enable registration" on the base before you can register the phone - the RC code should be a label on the bottom of the phone. Else unfortunately the handset could be faulty.

The handset is not ‘registered’ with the based unit.
By default, the Master PIN is 0000.
  1. On the base station, press and hold The paging key for approximately 5 seconds.
  2. On the handset, press Menu key,
  3. scroll : to ADVANCE SET and press (Menu) OK,
  4. scroll : to REGISTRATION and press (Menu) OK.
Note: If no action is taken on the handset within 10 seconds, the registration procedure will be aborted. If this happens, repeat Step 1.
  1. Enter the Master PIN when prompted and press (Menu) OK to confirm.

Contact list not available on voip321 handset

Using Skype 3.8.0.180

Go to Menu-Tools-Options-Advanced and give your voip321 access to skype application.

I had the same problem, solved when I allowed the skype phone to access skype.
