2 things to check:
- Fn + F2
- Start --> Control Panel --> in classic view, click Network Connections. Make sure wireless network connection is enabled. If it is disabled, right click and enable.

Not sure which NIC configuration you are referring to, but you can always open network connections in control panel to adjust the settings. reinstalling the driver may also help. if it is something else like wireless, it may help to clarify which configurationn you want to turn on.

How to Check TCP/IP Configuraitons

The first step in the troubleshooting process is to check the TCP/IP settings. You can check it by using the IPCONFIG/All command on the command prompt. You will see the configuration results. If you see a blank configuration for a card this means then the card is not assigned any IP address. You can assign the IP address manually or via DHCP server. If you are using the DHCP server for assigning the IP addresses then you can use the following commands to get and release the IP address.
IPConfig/Release
IPConfig/Renew
IPConfig/All
If the computer is still unable to obtain an IP address, then there are several things that can causing this problem such as bad network cable or NIC card, DHCP server might have assigned all the IP addresses from its pool, mis-configured TCP/IP settings, incorrect user name and password. You can try to add a new well configured machine to the replace the malfunctioning machine to see if the new machine is working with its settings. Also see if the driver of the NIC is properly installed or not. In case of driver's problem go to the vendor's website and install a new exact driver for the NIC.

How do I configure my NIC with a static IP for use with a SpeedTouch Home?If you are using an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home (without a router), a PPPoE client such as NTS, WinPoet, or RASPPPoE, and are experiencing stalls and freezes while surfing or connected, it may be that your NIC is not configured correctly. You must set a Static IP on your NIC. If you have it incorrectly set for "Obtain IP automatically" it will be looking for a DHCP server that does not exist. During the time the NIC is searching for the DHCP server you will experience stalls and freezes. An incorrect NIC settings will also cause the PC to take a longer time to boot up.

Will any Wireless Adapters work without the PC's NIC?

Yes even without any NIC card installed on your computer , the wireless adapter will definitely work since its a different device that work for wireless connection and has nothing to do with your NIC card configuration.

How do we hook up ? internet/printer/network on a Sharp ARM 350

First off you need to make sure that the AR-M350 has a network port on the back of it (next to the parallel port). This model did not come with a NIC only the AR-M350N models did. If it does have a NIC port then you only need to plug in a patch cable to your network jack. As long as the machine is set to DHCP it will find an IP after you restart the copier. To configure a manual IP address you log in as key operator under system settings then navigate to Printer Settings - Network Settings.

Network card not detecting in RHEL4 & 5

The solution proposed by user 'Solutions58' seems to be about windows box since he is talking about 'Device Manager'
RHEL4 or 5 detect compatible NIC cards during boot up process automatically. Sometimes NIC may be detected but may not work properly due to lack of proper driver (a.k.a Module - in Linux culture).
Do this -
1. First find out from HP's web site if NIC for your model has Linux support. You can also use Google to find appropriate driver for your NIC. If yes then you need to follow instructions that are provided in the INSATLL file that comes bundled with the driver.
2. Otherwise buy a $10 NIC card which has Linux support. Disable your onboard NIC through your computer's BIOS and boot it. Linux should detect your NIC right away.
3. Following command can help you in your quest
As root
# dmesg | grep eth (Will show your detected NIC)
# service network status (Will also show configured & active devices)
# ifconfig -a (Will also show your network devices and related info)
# system-config-network (will let you configure your NIC via GUI)
(This would be your best choice)
# system-config-newtowk-tui (Will give you a text base interface to configure your NIC)
