This problem exists when the seats get wore a and there is no resistance to shut water off. Replace the seats and springs to correct this problem. Shut water off and remove handle with a allen wrench and retaining collar to expose the valve body to gain access. Once apart remove seats and springs and reassemble and problem should go away.

Sink faucet for cold-water won't shut off

Hi,if you have had the faucet for some time if its a valve shut off their maybe a rubber washer that needs renewing ,or if you live in an area that has lime in the water you can get a build up of lime scale inside. The water will need to be turned of at the isolation valve and the faucet will have to be inspected to see what the problem is inside the unit.

How do i repair bellera #r560vs kitchen faucet reduced/low cold water flow have installed newfaucet valve

Turn off the hot & cold water supply lines at the shut-off valves.

Yo need to use the correct replacement cartridge for the faucet you are fixing

The cartridge replacement procedure requires using food grade silicone lubricant around the base of the new cartridge and around the threads of the bonnet.

Then you must properly align the 2 bumps on the bottom of the cartridge with the inside body of the faucet.

Insert and tighten down the bonnet that holds the cartridge in place to where it is snug- do not over tighten the bonnet!

Then reinstall the trim piece and lever.

Slowly, fully open the hot and cold water shut-offs and check for leaks at the shut offs, sink handle, and spout.

If you are using the Watts brand floodsafe supply lines, turn the hot and cold water shut-offs, on slowly. Rapid flow and pressure may activate the floodsafe valve within the supply line, causing little to no water flow to the faucet.

945 Kitchen Bridge Faucet - Swivel Spout, 9-1/2" (no Han) Brand: Newport Brass NB945-26 Series: 900 The stem moves up and down slightly when I turn on/off the water pressure. It does not leak but...

There is a good chance that if you remove the handle there will be a retainer of some sort. The retainer's job is to keep the stem/cartridge from pushing out due to water pressure. It may be in the form of a nut or a clip. Be careful removing the handle because if the retainer is completely disengaged then the stem/cartridge may shoot up. Turn the hot and cold water off at the valves located under the sink and relieve the pressure by turning the faucet on. If it's a loose nut it will spin freely. Tighten it. If it is a clip you may need to play with the stem/cartridge to align it properly before the clip will move into place..

I can't get water completely shut off on downstairs kitch faucet. All valves shut off, everything but bypass valve on wtr sftner. Still steady trkl on downstair fauc. Am I just not patient enough?

You might try opening all faucets and outside silcocks after main shut off valve to make sure you aren't just pulling a partial vacumn which can cause some water to be trapped in pipes and very slowly leak out.Thank you.

The handle set or retention screw has loosen up and needs tightened. Remove the handle and rotate the stem to the off possession and reinstall the handle in the correct alignment.

The faucet should have come with a rubber gasket which goes between the faucet body and the granite top. Make sure it's properly aligned and has not slipped out of place. Be carefull when tightening the faucet to the granite, since granite is easily cracked.

I have replaced the stem valve in my innovations two handle faucet but now the water will not shut off completely.

Remove it and make sure that the cup washer and spring are seated propoperly. The large end of the cone shaped spring sits on the bottom of the housing seat and cone washer slips over the small end of the spring. Use the shank of small screwdriver to guide the washer and spring by placing them on the shake in the proper order and then putting the shank into the housaing and sliding the washer and spring.
You may also have to disconnect the supply tube that connects to the faucet under your sink. This is to relieve the pressure within the valve housing which can cause the washer to become mis-aligned when installing the cartridge
. Also check cartridge for defects and make sure you have it install in the correct position i.e you may have to remove it rotate it 180 degrees re-install it and move the limit stop (if it has one, depends on year) inserted in the top to the correct side for propoer operation direction of the handle after you reverse it.
Hope this helps, sincerly T. Wood, C&F Enterprises, A Plumbing Contractor

Water will not turn off

are the handle extensions on the cartridges all the way. i know sometimes the moens are a pain after you put the trim on to get them on and seated right so it actually spins the cartridge. also check the cartridge alignment the cartridges have little white tabs on the sides that correspond with a slot in the valve body if they aren't aligned it won't shut off either

Kohler shower facuet pressure balancing problem?

ever since the pressure balancing regulations came out for shower valves, they have went from simple to very complicated devices. sounds as if some foreign material caused the valve to stop working. that valve is quit difficult to reassemble correctly because there is only one way it works and can be assemmbled many ways that do not work concerning alignment of the ports. if you dissassemble it and check that all the moving parts are functioning in the balancing cartridge you can then look closely at the alignment of the ports on the cartridge that the handle is connected to. understanding how the port align as the handle is turned should assist you in assembling it correctly......hope this helps.
