No idea what kind of vac you are asking about. You will need to clarify before the question can be answered.

1. Get a long screw driver (probably phillips head) a strip of tape.
2. Look around underneath your vac for screws... look carefully because sometimes they are sneaky and hidden in weird areas like under the wheels, etc.
3. Take screws out stick them in order on tape turned upwards. (remember how you took them out.)
4. Gently remove the bottom cover.
5. Clean and remove debris, hair, dust bunnies, rocks... whatever.
6. Determine where the belt goes, disengage the beater bar on that side (may need to unscrew something) Belt on beater bar gears. Other end of belt on motor end... then stretch belt with beater bar until it fits back in it's place and replace any screws, etc.
7. Make sure the belt is seated properly.
8. replace cover, screws... test.**

** sometimes belts require that you put a twist in them so it can transition from the motor's direction to the beater bar's direction... if you twist the wrong way... the beater bar will spit dirt out the front of the vac.. (it's bulldozing it) In that case remove cover and twist the belt the other way.

Good luck.

I want to see a pictute of the bottom of the vacum cause is not working

Hello! If the brushes are not spinning your belt may be broken or stretched out. I have included steps to checking and replacing your belt. There is also a link to the owner's manual attached that shows you illustrations on how to change the belt.

  • Lay the cleaner flat and flip it to expose the nozzle base. Remove the 5 screws.
  • Pull and lift the nozzle guard off.
  • Inspect the belt for damages. (nicks, cuts, broken, stretched)
  • Replace the belt with a Dirt Devil style 15 belt.
  • Slide new belt onto motor-shaft.
  • Place belt on area of brushroll with no bristles.
  • With new belt in place, pull and slide brushroll into nozzle making sure that the brushroll end caps are in the correct orientation.
  • Reattach nozzle guard.
  • Secure by aligning the 3 tabs in the base slots.
  • Replace all 5 screws.

Hope this helps!

Self propel not working

Make sure the replacement belt was the right one/size.
Make sure the self propelled is on at the handle. If you replaced the flat belt and it still pushes hard the most common problem is a broken power drive cable or actuator arm. Put the handle down and move the power drive handle forward and backward. If it moves freely watch by the headlight for the cable to move the actuator at the base. If the cable is in tact it should move the actuator. If it is broken the actuator will not move. If the actuator is broken the piece of plastic holding the cable will let the cable slide or it may be broken off completely. Replace whichever is broken.
If the cable system is ok and the belt is correct you may have a bad powerdrive assembly. I will include links to correct replacement parts.

Even if the flat belt is broken and the v belt loose shouldn't the shafts or something be spinning when I flip it over and turn it on? Nothing is spinning on mine

There is a tensioner pulley that drops when you drop the handle down. It squeezes the belt against the roller making it spin. This part often breaks as well. Replace the flat belt, and check to make sure the v belts edges aren't rounded. If they are and the edges are not crisp replace that belt as well. DO NOT put the v belt under the tensioner pulley. It will break should you do so. I'll include a link to the correct part # for that flat belt.

The carpet brush stopped rotating. Is there a quick fix? It rotates by hand and does not appear to be jammed in any way.

Make sure that all plug ins are correctly attached. Remove botton plate to determine if the rubber belt is broken. Replace belt if broken

I keep having to replace the belt on my Widepath Hoover Temp. Last time, the belt wasn't broken but had come off the spool. How can I secure the vacuum belt and/or stop it breaking? Thanks for any...

First be sure you have the correct belt for the machine. The current belt may be stretched, but not broken. The correct belt is # 38528033, or in a package of two, the package # is 40201160. When you have the agitator out of the vacuum, stand it on end and make sure it turns easily. If it does not spin freely, there may be hair or string in the bearings which will need to be cleaned out.

BRUSHES DO NOT TURN

It sounds like the belt came off, if it did it will be a simple fix. All you will have to do is put the belt back on and you will be good to go. If the belt is broken write down the make, model and take the belt with you a head to like walmart and see if they have a replacement. Make sure you get the right belt. If the belt is broken when you put on the new one it will seem like its too small but it will be a tight fit.

Brush roll wont turn

Might be that the the idler wheel is stuck and not engaging the V belt. If you look down just past the V belt you will see a black roller, it needs to be against the belt. It is either stuck or the asm. is broken.

I have a bissell 7.5poweramp uprite vacuum with a broken belt for the brush. What size belt would i need to fix this?

Not sure with having the model number, there may be a number on the belt, like style 7 etc. If no number, get me the model number and I can find out.
