Thanks for the information. Apparently the auto-detection is not working. I'll put in a service request.

Hello John,
Glad to help. Your copier has 2 seperate sensing devices built into the machine that allows it to automatically recognize the paper size for trays 3 and 4. There is one unit consisting of 2 photo-interruptors that determine the length of of the settings of the paper tray, and a potentiometer that allows the copier to determine the width of the setting of the paper tray. The copier recognizes the paper tray settings automatically as you change them for trays 3 and 4. So there is really nothing required from you other than moving the side guides and the end guide to suite the paper size you wish to insert. The side guides are built into the paper tray and they move in tandem so when you squeeze the blue (I call it a clothes pin since it looks like one) release lever which allows you to change the paper width as you need. To the left of the tray there is a blue square block that is re-positioned as you choose to change paper sizes. This "end fence" should **** against the paper for support and there are markings at the base/bottom if the tray that indicate the proper postion it should be depending on the paper size you need to insert. I believe this pretty much covers it ! :-) Let me know if you need further help and have a great copying experience!!!!! LOL

How do I make an 11x17 newsletter on my canon 3530

If you are trying to print this from your computer to the IMAGERUNNER 3530 Copier, you need to access the "page setup" portion of the program you are using to produce the original artwork. If you are using "Publisher" or "Photoshop", for example, go to "File", Page Setup and change the paper size to 11" X 17". You will also need to tell it which tray in the IMAGERUNNER 3530 Copier you have put paper into.

If you are up-sizing the page from a previous size (ie: 8.5" X 11 or 8.5" X 14") you need to use the enlarge feature to scan into the IMAGERUNNER 3530 Copier and output to 11" X 17".

Let me know if I can be of any additional assistance.

My canon ir 2018 is asking me to load correct paper in the tray even when the paper size is correct and all the settings are correct. It would print one copy then ask to load paper, i pull out the tray and...

Check the proper orientation of the paper. For example, if you are loading A4 size. In your tray you can find 2 A4 size. Select A4R in you want to position your paper Landscape or A4 if portrait.
To verify also the correct paper size, put your paper on the platen glass. Markings on the two sides of the platen glass shows the correct paper size.

Printer switches to tray 3 when out of paper instead of stopping

You can do one or a nother thing. You can change the paper size in paper tray 3 to Legal size or you can go into the user settings, under addtional funcation and choose, that tray 3 will not daisy chain when tray 2 is empty or you can make tray 3 not to be able to print too.

Canon Imagerunner 210S - A3 error

A3 is a metric size paper. The document you are trying to print must have been formated for metric size paper. When you print select "Fit to printer margins" De-select "Choose paper source by PDF page size" and select the proper page size and source.
