Can I change my email address

https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN2047.html

Go to here and click on YAHOO ACCOUNT INFORMATION PAGE link... most likely, you cannot change it. Inform yahoo customer service if you want to delete this email and make a new one. Just make sure, your friends / contacts know you are going to delete your existing email address with a new one!!! On another note... if you have files under this email address... do you want to keep them? yahoo will completely delete everything associated with that email address!! BE CAUTIOUS!

Cant login to yahoo to get email.forgot password

You can get a new password, a Yahoo! ID reminder, or both. If you forgot your Yahoo! ID or password, go to the Sign-in Problems page.
If you forgot your Yahoo! ID, you need to provide three pieces of information so we can confirm your identity:
  • Your birthday
  • Your ZIP or postal code (at the time you created your Yahoo! account or when you last updated it)
  • Your alternate email address -Note: You must have access to this email address
  • Country code (at the time you created your Yahoo! account or when you last updated it)
Be sure to provide the same information you gave the last time you registered for a new Yahoo! ID or password or the last time you updated your account.
If you forgot your password, you can create a new one. But first you'll have to provide the following information so we can confirm your identity:
  • Your Yahoo! ID
  • Alternate email address, mobile phone number, or the answers to your secret questions
A Reset Your Password link will be sent to your alternate email address. Click the link and enter your new password in the Reset your password page.
If you entered your secret question incorrectly or forgot what you originally entered, for security reasons, we cannot tell you what your Yahoo! ID is or let you create a new password.

All of this information was taken from http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/id_password/edit-20.html , consult that page for further instruction if you're confused.

Dear Sir, I forgot my yahoo email address password. Please help me how to open or change my password. Thanks, Akbar

There are many chances you would lose your yahoo mail / messenger passwords and would not be able to recover it. Here are some of the steps you need to perform.
yahoo-mail-logo.gifThe basic and normal procedure for recoving your password is to start with this page where you will be asked with your Yahoo ID and will need to confirm whether you have used credit card previously with this login, because if you would have used a credit card previously your account will be verified with those CC details without any charges. The next step would entering your identity details which you would have submitted while registering this yahoo account like Birthday, ZIP (or Postal) Code, and Country.
REQUEST A NEW PASSWORD:
If the above information did not assist you, please attempt to request a new password. Remember that our team may not reset your password or remind you of your current password.
To request a new password:
1. Click on the MY ACCOUNT link at the top of the Yahoo! home page.
2. Enter your password.
3. On the Account Information page, click on the CHANGE PASSWORD link.
You will be prompted to change your password to something different. It is recommended your new password not contain any part of your old one, for security reasons. If you have followed the directions above, and are still unable to obtain a new password for your account or feel that your account may have been compromised, please reply to this email with the following information you supplied during your Yahoo! registration.
yahoo-logo.gif* Yahoo! ID (If you cannot supply this ID, please give your alternate
email address given during your original registration)
* Your name
* Date of birth (mm-dd-yr)
* Your alternate email address
* Secret Question and Answer
* Your city and state
* Zip Code or Postal code you entered during registration
* Your country
If the above solution does not work out , you may have to lose the email because the normally sold softwares which are used for recovering the password are all fraud and they cannot help you to recover the password. All these Yahoo Password Recovery Softwares are fake because none of these can recover the password from yahoo so dont ever buy them.

Email returned stating address incorrect has .ocm instead of .com(linton.evelyn@yahoo.com

Sure they can. But it will take some effort on your part. you will have to contact Yahoo and tell them of your problem, more than once or twice. When they start to reply and tell you the different ways to resolve your problem keep writing to them and save all the emails they send to you. this happened to me when someone hacked into my account and changed my passwords and e-mail address, I had to get a new e-mail so that I could send and resend all this information to them and the problem was resolved in 10 days of getting their e-mails telling me how to resolve it. good luck and be persistant!

Last name change on mail

If you are referring to Yahoo free email, for example @yahoo.com, simply register an account in your new name and inform your contacts to update their address books. You can still continue using the your old email address if you want to, as well as the new one. In fact, within reason you can open as many Yahoo email addresses you want.

Hope this helps
