How to replace frigidaire microwave magnatron?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I see you want to know how to replace the magnetron on your Frigidaire microwave. This typically is not a do it yourself repair. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained specifically on your appliance and will know exactly how to repair your microwave. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

We have a Panasonic NN V453 microwave - but have lost the manual. We have already had the lamp replaced some years ago and the machine needs replacing. We want one with a similar capacity (which we do not...

Sadly we can not . You need to go shopping for yourself with some measurements of where you want to locate it , with an idea of what wattage you want also .

Microwave runs however it is not heating. I replaced Magnetron and it still doesnt heat. As I was replacing it I noticed a little debris around the HV Capacitor. When I turned it on there was smoke...

Not sure if they will or not. The magnetron is a fairly simple replacement. Soldering does take some skill and can easily ruin a control board if you do not know how to removed and replace components. If you know how to solder, just read the information off of the capacitor then search online for a direct replacement. More than likely it would be cheaper that way then getting it from GE (if they sell them).

Not heating

Hope you got a good deal, because you can replace all the microwave components for about $200.00.

It's going to be one of the following components -

1) Fuse
2) Diode
3) Capacitor
4) Transformer
5) Magnetron

Fuse is easily checked. If it's blown, replace with an identical type and rating. If it blows again, then dig deeper.

Diode is very hard to test, and cost is cheap. Replace it.
Capacitor is very hard to test under load, and is a little more expensive. Replace.

Transformer can be tested if you know what your doing.

Magnetron is not easily tested without harm to humans. Replace with same type or approved interchangeable equal.

Let me know your findings and I can help more if needed.
