Hit the Windows Button + R and type the text in the box

You should get a window that looks like this:
It'll look a little different depending on your operating system. If you're using a mac, then it won't look like this at all.
Anyways double click on the Sound, video, and game controller part of the tree, and it'll give you a listing of devices. If you have a mic, it'll probably show up there. The problem being that you'll have to lookup every entry on google to see if the thing listed actually includes a mic.
