There should be a reset hole located under the laptop. remove any power cords including the battery and press an ink pen tip or suitable device tip into the reset hole and hold for ten seconds. This should reset the bios.

Hello Sir,

I'm sorry to say but there is no combination characters we could enter to reset that password. I support Toshiba laptops but with software only. That issue have considered a hardware problem. That password can only be reset if you know the password, if not you need to have someone look at it, because there is some button on the motherboard need to be clicked on.

My toshiba will only boot up in safe mode... how do i fix it

this is not something you should do all the time. hold down your power button until your system goes off, start it again and it will give you the option if to start in safe mode or not, or you could restart the system and follow the other above proceedures instead of shutting it down wrongly, anyways one of them should work

Perhaps a result of the auto display off. press any key to activate the screen again.

If using the LCD screen, make sure the priority is not set on an external monitor. To do this, press the Fn function key combination to set the display priority.

if you use an external monitor:
1. Check whether the monitor is switched on

2. Check if the power cable is properly connected

3. Check if the cable menguhungkan external monitor and the notebook is connected correctly.

4. Try to set the constrast and brightness on the external monitor

Remove Bezel on Toshiba A355D-S6889

Ok, if you have never replaced a laptop screen before, you might not want to do this one first. It appears that the screws on the face of the screen have to come off first. They are under the rubber footies. After screws are out, tape them to a piece of paper, and label what they were for. Do this for all screws you remove, After screws are out, you will open the screen as far as it will go without forcing it. Using a plastic card, or similar PLASTIC tool, slide into the crack around the perimeter of the screen facia. You will hear "pops" as the snap clips are opened. The lower case of the laptop may also need to be removed. This repair is best left to someone with experience, so be careful to remember what screws go where. This is very important as a long screw in the wrong place will destroy your machine. Check out this page that sells parts for this machine:
http://www.laptoprepairparts.com/html/LRsearchmodelresults.asp?brand=toshiba&model=a355d-&txt=Satellite A355D series (A355D-S6881, A355D-S68811, A355D-S6885, A355D-S6887, A355D-S6889, A355D-S6921, A355D-S6922, A355D-S69221, A355D-S6930, A355D-S69301)

you will need to copy and paste since the website uses spaces, and the models were truncated. Without seeing the actual device in person, it would be difficult to walk you through it. Just remember how you took it apart, tape screws to paper with descriptions on where they went, protect against static, dust, water, and always use plastic tools to avoid scratches.
