How do you turn the sound up and down?

Hi Patricia,

What is the make/model of your laptop and what operating system are you using?
First is to look at your keyboard. All of your keys will have your main characters assigned to each key in bold, white letters, but some may have other characters or symbols in a different color.

This is a good example from a Dell keyboard where you have the volume keys above the numbers 7, 8, and 9 on the very top row (mute/volume down/volume up respectively). It's easy to see taht you simply hit these keys to mute, lower or raise your volume...very straight forward.

You also see that this keyboard has some smaller blue characters on the top row, set as the Function Keys. To access these you first hold the "Fn" key on the very bottom left of the keyboard (between Ctrl and the Windows key) and then press the top row to access the related function. I only point this out as some laptops have the Volume Up/Down set as such, where you will have to hold down and alternate key first (usually the same color) and then press or hold down that second key to activate it.

Good luck!

I need a manual for Panasonic N2QAJB000045 television receiver.

In tech terms this is ancient history. For this remote, the muting button is in the bottom row in the 3rd column, grouped with the volume controls. See e.g. discontinued part picture at: http://www.buyspares.com/n2qajb000045-remote-control/product.pl?pid=1081845

Where is volume control for mail on mac computer

You can adjust volume with keyboard buttons. They are right on the keyboard - top row 2/3 of the way across. There are 3 buttons: mute, volume down and volume up.

You can also adjust the volume via system preferences - sounds.

My philips srp5107wm/17 only changes the volume on my tv no matter what device i have it set on

The Philips remote is set to "push trough" the volume/mute to the TV for devices that typically don't have a volume function. Older versions of Philips remote used to allow you to select the device to push volume to, but for some reason this is no longer available (or at least I haven't found out how to). So here is the solution I used.

Teach (learning function) the remote to use whatever device you like for volume/mute.

1, Press the button for the device you would like to change
2. Hold down "learn" and the button you want to teach ex. "volume up" until the red light comes on
3. Place the original remote of the device you would like to change the volume on 5-10 cm away from your Philips remote and press "volume up" for this example
4. Repeat these steps for the "volume down" and "mute" buttons
5. Repeat these steps for other devices you would like to "push through" volume/mute to a device other than TV

Hope this helps others. I did find that some devices like SAT may not allow you to change the volume/mute, but otherwise this workaround does the trick.

How do you adjust the volume

As you have not been specific with model, I can only offer a generic answer:

Depending on the brand of laptop you have, there are 2 methods:

1) look for a miniature dial control control on the front of your laptop.
2) look for a button on your keyboard with a picture of a speaker. If this symbol has a different colour, or is situated on the top row, then you may have to hold down the function (Fn) key while you press the speaker buttons.

If none of the above works, then you may have to un-mute the sound:

Look for the speaker icon (at the bottom r/hand of your screen). Place cursor over the icon, then 'right-click' and open up the sound properties. Ensure the speakers are un-muted.

Hope this helps....

I can hear the other person but they can't hear me

Your headset may be muted. Try to unmute the call. The mute function is enabled through the volume buttons. Simply tap both volume buttons at the same time until you hear a mute tone. The mute tone when unmuting the call will be a descending tone. When you tap both volume buttons, if you hear a descending tone you have just disabled the mute function and your problem is solved. If the mute tone is ascending tones you have just enable the mute function and this was not the issue. If this is the case consult your user manual or contact Motorola for trouble shooting.

Sound wont go on. muted but i have no way of unchecking the mute box

Go to the top of your keyboard. There is a button with a black sideways bell shape icon on it ( a speaker) (the f3 key)...probably four in from the left starting with esc. Toggle that on. It may be on the mute setting now. It should have waves coming out of it when it is unmuted. To the right of that button (two buttons to the right) is the increase volume control button, the (f5) key. Make sure the volume is up! If it is down all the way you will hear nothing and it will be also muted.
I am not sure why if you go into System Preferences (under the Apple icon) and scroll down to Sound and Output, the mute box cannot be unchecked. Perhaps using the function keys to unmute and increase volume on the top of the keyboard will help.

Razr in mute mode

the only mute function is to mute/unmute a call during the active call.
It is the - key (center button at the top of the keypad)
Have you turned the volume too low?
If you turn the volume to low, it will stay low all the time until you reset it to a higher level.
You just press the volume keys on the side of the flip lid or set in the setup menu.
