As soon as i turn the ps3 on the light turns green then goes to red blinking light

PS3 show red light blinking, sometimes disc can't eject - Generally it means CPU overheat, but there are also other issues related to it. But don't rush to find someone to fix it yet! You CAN fix it by yourself after you follow my tutorials.
Remember, you are not the only one to suffer this problem! Because I had help so many people to fix the same problem now. You are so lucky to be there. Send it in for service at a Sony playstation service center.
It is possible you have a hard drive problem, but you will basically need to buy a hard drive and install it to find out.

PS3 owners refer to this as the 'Yellow Light of Death' or 'YLOD'. It's quite common. The problem is caused by poor solder joints (due to overheating) on the motherboard and degrading heat sink compound on the fan.

Turn power on and the light goes from green to blinking red.


you have the yellow light of death.. go to youtube and search for that and there are some self help videos.. basically u have to take the whole machine apart and reheat the cpu and gpu chips
