Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Have you run the disc restore? In most cases it will not work.
But don't worry, for $20-$50 (US) you should be able to fix it. Without knowing what happened before that it's hard to say. But my best guess is that the hard drive is internally damaged in some way. Just take off the small panel on the left side, remove the screw, use the little handle and gently pullforward then out. It should be a Seagate SATA hard drive 20, 40, 60, or 80GB. Just buy a new one from your local store or online. Make sure that you mark the bad one before you get the new one near it so you don't get tem mixed up. Then remove the 4 little screws on the mountinng cage, switch hard drives, install back into PS3 and it will give you the format screen again. Click yes and it will format, turn off, back on, and you should be all set!!
I hope this helps!! Good luck.
