Check circuit breakers more than likely one is tripped .check a gfci- outlets . A lot of times kitchen outlets are tied in to ground fault recepticles. Commonly called gfci 's. If it has a light on it that is lit up press reset button. If it clicks and stays lit it's bad and needs replaced.

Rancilio silvia trips circuit breaker

There is an electrical short within the machine, ...don't doubt it - the results of your experiments prove that it has an electrical fault and that your tripping circuits are doing exactly what they should to keep you and your property safe.
The machine needs servicing by a registered Rancilio electrician, don't go inside yourself, its highly likely that the part causing the tripping is dangerous and will need to be replaced.

My machine message is too much coffee, and is not making cooffee and the ground cooffee is not going into the recepticle to be brewed

Too much coffee comes up when the load on the bottom chamber is too much.
Generally, it means you have too much coffee in the lower chamber.
If so, adjust the grinding times in the program.
Alternatively, if this happens with no coffee in the chamber, it may be the top piston is sticking on the lip of the bottom chamber as it moves.
You can try making coffee with the front door open(obviously pulling the front door switch so the machine works..:) and see what happens.

My machine is on ventilate. I have been running water through the steam line and have gone through 6 resovoirs of water and still nothing. I'm weary!!!!

You have something in the flow meter that is not allowing it to spin. The usual culpret is coffee bean chip that got into the water recepticle when the tank was off. Blow air back through the hole where the arrow is in pictur # 6. bansheracer_3.jpgbansheracer_4.jpg

As soon as i switch on the power the power is tripped

What exactly is tripping out? Most kitchens now have GFI recepticals. There is a small red button that pops out if the circuit detects moisture inside the electrical parts of the coffee maker. If that is tripping you may be able to simply dry out the coffee maker by turning it upside down and then blowing the switch and electronic controls with a hair dryer for a few minutes. Try the coffee maker is a receptical in the bedroom. If it doesn't trip there it is probably moisture caused by spilling a little water on the machine when you were filling it. If it trips the bedroom breaker, it is most likely a dead short in the machine. Normally it is not worth the labor and parts to repair this machine.

Water leaking under the tank

If the water is coming from under the cold water tank on the back of the machine it probably the o-ring seal in the grey machine recepticle which is visable when you remove the tank for filling. This seals the tank to the machine body and over time can leak (mine has!!). You can get them from Gaggia UK in Halifax
