If you already have your answer to this disregard.
Are you saying that the old toilets and the new ones all did or are doing the same thing?
If yes are they installed on the same DWV (drainage waste and vent) plumbing system as the old ones?
How many toilets are we talking about?
Are any of the problem toilets set back to back in two bathrooms with a common wall?

How do I stop water running into pan after toilet has been flushed &refilled.

If there is water still running into the toilet bowl, there is a problem with your flapper or flush valve. The most common problem, and least expensive to fix, is the flapper has gone bad and is allowing water to escape past it. Replace the flapper and the water should stop running. If not, it is possible the flush valve or one of the seals holding it to the tank has gone bad and needs replaced. Try replacing the whole flush valve. They come in a kit that includes the valve, flapper, and seals.

My Mansfield toilet flushes but only 1/3 of the water in the tank flows out during a flush and the bowl does not get enough water to flush everything.

Check the water level int he tank for it coming up to fill line in tank. Make sure the 1/4 " fill line from the fill valve is connected and in the stand pipe tube to allow water to fill bowl. Fluid master makes a flapper that has adjustments on it to increase or decrease water used to flush. It has a dial to move on it this would be another option if the above tried doesn't help.

Thansk and I hope this will help you with this problem.

Toilet model 386 is spraying water through the top of the water valve when tank is refilling. The water then is coming out between the lid and the tank onto the floor. email Address: milemc@yahoo.ca

there is a black hose line that goes from the flush valve to the fill valve. that black hose needs to be attached to the fill valve the one in the center. Your clip may have broken or it could of just slipped out. the hose is called the refill tube. If its broke then you will have to replace the flush valve.

If you are working with a plumber that can't answer your question, than what kind of help do you think you will get here. Not much of a plumber if you ask me, if you had problems with your first Mansfield why on earth would you purchase another, and use the same plumber??? I put a Kohler in, when I put a addition on my house and it's been working over TEN years without question and did not need a plumber to install. Take the thing back where you purchased it and exchange for an Eljer or Kohler and do not consult that braincell of a plumber, I would do it myself it's not hard go to you tube and teach yourself there are thousands of tutorials out there for doing just this DIY project.

Water level in bowl is too low so it's a problem keeping it clean. How can I raise the water level?

All toilet bowls have a preset water level determined buy the design of the internal s-trap and can not be change. However if the water level in the tank is not as high as it should be this will affect the water put into the bowel as the bowel in refilled by the flush valve and if it is set to stop before it get filled to the proper setting the bowl water level may be low.
A quick test is to see if the water level in the tank is up to the line in the tank most all toilet tanks have a line either stenciled or marked with a indentation in the porcelain. Another way is to mark the level in the bowel with tape or a marker then pour water slowly into the bowel not fast enough to flush it wait to see if it stays higher then the mark you made or settles back to that level.

When flushing the toilet, there is not a lot of "push" behind the flush. I'm having to flush two times, regardless of what is in the toilet.

It is normal for these useless new tanks to do that. Won't even flush a piece of paper. Pull off the lid and make sure the little hose is in the overflow pipe, and raise the water level as high as you can. take out all the bricks and water bottles, and bowl cleaners. Then give it a try. It might do a bit better. Hope this helps.

Have Mansfield #160 and hear a fog horn like sound when flushing toilet. What can I do to fix?

Are your wast water pipes in your house vented through the roof? If they are maybe the vent pipe is clogged. At my father in-laws house the pipes are not vented through the roof like their supposed to be to vent sewer gas. they are not vented at all. Every time you flush it sounds like someone is downs stairs screaming. Something to do with air/ suction in the pipes.

Problem removing old flapper unit from Mansfield tank

Disconnect the water supply first. Then use a large channel lock and remove the large plastic nut on the botton side of the supply system. Take the old one out and replace it just use caution when retightening the nut. The porcelon is very delicate. Check for leaks after you have turned the water back on and if you have to carefully tighten it some more. I hope this was helpful Have a good week end! : )

Toilet tank is refilling slowly.

Hi AaronYC,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumbe.

Your problem is: Installed a new American Standard Cadet 3 toilet bowl and tank at home. When you turn the water supply on, the tank refills normally and stops normally. After you flush, the refill is very slow. When it refills normally the water comes out from the bottom of the pipe (i.e. the pipe that houses the float cup) and when it is refilling slowly, it comes from the top of the pipe. Sometimes (but not always), you can shut the water supply off and when you turn it back on, the flow of water goes from slow to fast instantly - but you haven't been able to recreate this consistently.

These are the facts. American Standard has been keeping costs down by out sourceing. Their toilets are now built in third world countries and parts are made cheap. They're all doing it. Quality control is pretty good but your toilet came with a bad "ballcock". That's the refill part on the left. Because it's new, if you take the ball **** back to place of purchase they should give you new. If not, they cost less than $ 10.00 and easy to replace.
