Question about Garmin NUVI 360 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

My Garmin Nuvi 360 Starts up fine and will sometimes locate a couple of satellites and starts to get more accurate but then will lose the signal and won't regain it. Other times it won't get any signal at all and won't locate anything. Any help appreciated

The reset didn't cure the problem so I will have to look at getting it repaired.

1.Try to reset your gps device..
Here's How ...please watch this video ...

2.Use the Garmin web updater to update your gps device ..

3.If the problem still occurs ,the signal issue might be caused by poor solder joints. It's caused by a defective part.
The defective part needs to be replaced with a higher rated part. This type of repair returns the unit to full functionality and allows the unit to properly switch between the internal and external antenna as it was intended to do by design

My garmin 205 seems to have lost its fix. Its position is out by about 100m, tracking established roads but to one side or other then loses roads altogether then gets totally lost. Is a map update...

Whenever these devices start acting up, I recommend performing a hard reset of your Gamin Nuvi 205. Also, use Garmin's WebUpdater service to make sure you have the latest software on your device. There have been numerous fixes to the firmware to allow the Garmin 205 or acquire satellite signal faster, and to be more accurate with your location.

I hope that helps.

Just purchased a garmin nuvi 205W in Florida. It

This device should find a signal nearly anywhere it is used. The further away from the earth's equator it is used will increase signal lock or "fix" time though. You should be able to get a fix by bringing the unit into an open space (few / low trees, buildings, etc.) and leave on for up to 20 minutes. The GPS should provide an accurate location in this amount of time and should be able to fix in a moment or so from that point on.

If you have troubles still, contact Garmin Support below:

I hope this helps!

My garmin nuvi has trouble locating satellites and losing signals. What happened? It used to be much more reliable.

Acquisition of satellite speed has been addressed in new firmware / system software updates for the Garmin Nuvi 200W .

I can help you fix your Garmin Nuvi 200W.

There are three steps to take to get your Nuvi running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

Garmin Nuvi 360T won't find satellites

I should have posted this sooner.  I got hold of Garmin about my problem with the nuvi 360.  They were very nice about it and had me send the unit to them and they sent me a new one.  It was that simple.  I never found out what the problem was but the explanation from the other guy makes sense...... that the internal battery wore out and had to be replaced.  I am very happy with Garmin products and am glad everything worked out.
