What you can try is to unplug tool and spray something like WD-40 on the collar mechanism and usually it is simpler for this to remove the pivot shoe and turn the collar and release until you can get full rotation and pull the blade out. There might be some dirt in the release mechanism not allowing the blad/collar to release. This is about the only way without having to remove the assembly. Let me know if you need more assistance
