SOURCE: moved into house with westinghouse

This problem can arise due to the following
1. The is not powered on
2. Gas valve is not turned on (for gas oven)
3. Clock is not set.

I am assuming that the first 2 problems are resolve by you already. For clock setting you have follow the following steps.

1. Press the "mode" button until the "clock" indicator begins flashing.

2. Press the - or + buttons to change the time. 5 seconds after the last change, the "clock" indicator will disappear, confirming the time has been set.

I am sure the problem is in clock setting. Please refer to your user manual for other clock settings. Note that without setting the clock properly the oven will not start.

I have a westinghouse oven freestyle 662 and i was wondering how to replace the light bulb inside the oven

I had the same problem. I found the glass cover was just too tight to move by hand so after isolating the oven, I used an old cloth and adjustable pliers that could apply more pressure. This worked straight away.
try not to screw it on too tight.

cheers

Verify the manual or the sticker in the back, check for the electrical rating (AMPERS) 15 for a house appliance and 20 for commercial type oven, if your electric system meets the ratings then (if it is still under warranty), go to the store have it replaced, with all the tests you did, it is definitely defective.

Good luck!

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.

Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.

Did the technician measure the power line voltage? Do you have or have you had trouble with any other electrical items in the home? This could indicate a defect in the design or manufacturing, but most manufacturers are reluctant to admit it easily, since the costs of a reall can be pretty steep. You might want to call GE Customer Relations at 1-800-386-1215 (8-6 ET). Feel free to follow up with more details if we can help further. We appreciate your thoughtful ratings to our reply.
