Determine if it is a PS2 which has a round end, generally green and standard for most computers even the newest, whereas the keyboard is usually purple. Also, try to stay away from the ball type mice as these collect dust and debris and tend to stick. I recommend USB (flat rectangular) plug type and laser or microsoft's new bluetrack technology which can be found wireless bluetooth via USB bluetooth dongle and can be used on most any surface and for less that $25 including shipping!
Here is a google link to the mouse info http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&site=&source=hp&q=bluetrack+mouse&aq=f&aqi=g3g-m7&aql=&oq=&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=dab957d17934ce0

Hope this helps

I changed the batteries & my mouse has stopped working any ideas

Sounds like you need to sync the mouse back up with the computer. A lot of the time there is a button on the bottom of the mouse that need to be pushed in order to resync it with the computer. If you have the manual for your mouse it will more then likely have the instructions on how to do this for your particular mouse there.
Good Luck.

Have a dynex wirless optical mouse how do i get it to work no usb or anything that plugs in it is a model no.-DX-PWLMSE SERIAL NO.-10A25A008530

Hi, you'll need a USB receiver in order for the mouse to work with a computer. The USB receiver connects to the computer and transmits the mouse's movements and clicks to the motherboard. Without the receiver, your computer has no way to know what the mouse is doing.
You can purchase replacement receivers for many kinds of wireless mice, but for the price it will cost you are probably just better off buying a brand new mouse so that you know it will work correctly with the receiver.

My acer mouse model number mg-0919 stops working after about 2 minutes. I have to turn the mouse off then back on. This happens constantly. What is going on? Is it defective? My mouse is under...

I had the same problem. This mouse came with my Acer Revo which was still under warranty. Tech support basically says to check the obvious (batteries, USB connection, RF interference). Their obviously canned answer goes on to detail a manual reconnect procedure that does not apply to this model. And when all else fails, get a new mouse.
This is what Acer tech support emailed me:
If you are experiencing issues with your wireless mouse not working properly, perform the following steps to troubleshoot the wireless mouse.

1) Ensure that the receiver is 8-inches from other electrical devices. Avoid placing the cordless devices on metallic surfaces.

2) Verify that the USB connector from the receiver is properly plugged into a USB port on the computer. Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port to ensure that the USB port is working properly.

3) Remove the batteries and then reinsert the batteries into the mouse, making sure that the battery polarities are correct.

4) Test the batteries to ensure that they still have a charge.

5) Try the manual connect procedure.

Manual connect procedure:

1) Press and release the Connect button on the receiver.

2) Within 30 seconds, press and release the Connect button on the mouse.

If the issue persists, we can replace your computer's wireless mouse.

We will ship the new wireless mouse within 3-5 business days.

Before placing an order for wireless mouse we would like to confirm the following.

1) Complete shipping address:

2) email address:

3) phone number:

In order to place an order for wireless mouse, the computer must be registered.

I have installed the software and still can't use the wireless keyboard and mouse (GE wk1204)

Most mice should work without any software, there is a button on the underside of the mouse that needs to be pressed in the right order with pressing the receiver button connected to the computers USB port. Typically Press the base connect button first, then the mouse connect button, then the keyboard button. If it doesnt work reverse the mouse keyboard order. Make sure your using new batteries This is most often the case -dead batteries. (installed in the correct fashion) cheers.

Computer wouldn't work so had to take out battery, plus disconect all wires. when i connected it computer worked but mouse doesnt. It is only 3 weeks old. I put new batteries in mouse

If the mouse is wireless it may need to be reconnected to it's reciever. Check the bottom of the mouse for instructions on what order to hit your reconnect buttons.

If you can't find the sequence, comment back here with the make and model of your mouse and I will see if I can find them for you.
