Question about Home

1 Answer

The shower pan came with no installation instruction, it looked so well designed that I thought it would easily drain fully by just putting it in place. However since I have know completed the project I find the water pools in the far left corner. Any suggestions short of taking out the bottom row of tiles. HELP

Sounds like you will have to remove the tile and shower pan. The pan needs to be level along all walls. Use a level. I had to cut wood shims to support the pan and keep it level before screwing it to the side walls

Had shower installed. shower leaks from under the base of shower. What could cause this?

your shower pan and drain assembly may not be tightened adequately, you may have a drain to 'p' trap leak, or the enclosure itself may not be completely sealed to water leakage.

If you have any means to visually inspect the plumbing, or the surround from the back side, do so while the shower is running, to identify where the water is coming from.

Is there any problem with using silicone on maax mediterrian III shower walls

I looked at the installation instructions for mediteranean III at this Maax site. It says silicone sealant is to be used. Unsure where you noticed mentioned of siliconized latex.

Shower leak due to soft pan, bad support

The best way to repair is to completely remove the shower surround and pan. Build a better support and repair the drain then reinstall. Leaking water will ultimately ruin the actual floor of the camper.

I need to remove the Maax shower base and can not figure out how to remove the wedge retainer. do i need to actually cut the shower base to get the pipe detached to remove the shower base?

Hello, You shouldn't have to resort to that extreme. The drain unit that the retainer sits in is the part securing the base down, have a look at the diagram in this link: http://www.maax.com/Upload/docs/premium/technical/en/000_10014442_0904-2_E.pdf

The drain assembly should unthread and release the base. But sometimes they tend to work as designed.

The retainer is a compression fit (or should be... do you know the installer? they may have deviated from the described installation). Assuming a proper install, use a flat-head screwdriver and a utility knife to seperate the inside portion of the rubber seal of the retainer, from the plastic ring. The ring should now be able to be pried out, and the drain portion unthreaded.

If this helped, please rate a four-thumbs up. Thank You.

How do i service my transmission on a 2004 chevy trailblazer

transmission pan must be removed to drain fluid & change filter.loosen all pan bolts, remove all but 4 bolts @ corners.strike pan with a plastic hammer or block of wood if it's stuck. slowly remove remaining bolts, allowing fluid to drain into a suitable container.this can get messy, have rags handy.when drained, remove pan, clean pan & transmission gasket surfaces.pull filter straight down, push new filter on to tube, positioned as original, install new gasket,'run down 'all pan bolts then tighten them securely.

Walk in shower leak into room below

I would unscrew shower head pipe and either pipe dope it or tefilon the threads and then reinstall it. I would also take the handle(s) rosettes off and look for a leak from there with a flashlight, while shower is on. I believe the most comon leak for walk in showers are the door seals. Are you sure it is not coming out from under the door? Another test that yuo may want to preform is to Stopper the drain, fill the shower pan with water and watch for bubbles, or look for leaks from below.

I need to remove an old shower stall base.

if it is a fiberglass pan then use a saw to cut around the drain. lift the old pan out and cut the top part of the old drain off (i am guessing it is a black ABS pipe).
install a new drain in the new pan and dry fit it to the old remaining ABS. if it fits, remove, add glue and reset.
there are other steps involved but this will at least get you past the demo stage.
