Hi

If you are sure that the timer motor is fine and you have also checked it already then check this diagram....and check the reed switch & lid switch as if any of these parts is bad it will behave same way as its doing right now. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The timer that changes the cycle wont change from wash to rinse to spin i have been doing it manualy by pushing in nob and turing myself

If a mechanical timer is fitted more than likely the timer motor is burnt out. This part is usually not available on it's own & you will need to replace the timer.

Maytag gas dryer model SDG4606AWW timer wont rotate on any cycle, dryer just keeps running until knob is rotated manualy to off, replaced timer and new one is doing the same, took dryer compltley apart,...

I don't have a Maytag schematic handy but there should be one on or in the dryer. Trace the clock wiring back until until you get voltage. I am betting one leg of the time motor goes to the drum motor (Gray wire maybe) and the other leg to the dryness sensor module (brown wire). Check these wires against both Line and Neutral. That should tell of it's the module or the motor block.

Troubleshooting m460g timer

you should have power across the two wires to the timer while it is running . Power needs to be on the timer for it to work. One wire should be low ohms to the ground or metal surface and the other wire should be the power wire to the timer motor. if no power on the other wire to timer follow it back and you may find an open in a door switch or temp switch. good luck

I have a Kenmore washer 110.23832100 and it won't go through cycles anymore. It will start and we can manually change the cycle but it won't move ahead on it's own.

Hi Cat,
This sounds like the timer motor. This is located inside the head of the machine, accessed by the two screws on either corner of the head. Remove the timer knob, then the two screws holding this on, but only after you have the head open. Remove the timer, and you will see on the back a small teardrop shaped motor. It has two small wires on it, that give it power. Remove the two small screws from that, bring it to your parts dealer to obtain a new one. Reinstall in reverse procedure. Check with power while the head is open to determine that the motor is moving, you will see inside a small mark on the gear as it turns. Rescrew the head to the cabinet and you should be ok
Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask, rate and comment Thank You Joe

Wont spin or drain makes ticking noise

Maybe the timer is not running.
Can you turn the timer ahead manually a step at a time? Then if you don't hear the motor running the timer may not be working or sending signals to motor to start. . But If the motor starts a spin cycle then the timer is just not running itself probably dut to not getting power.
All this is difficult without the diagrams. There are so many interlocks and safety switches that you wont know about

Water will fill but wont do anything else

Does the water turn off when filled? If so can hear a motor humming or running? If so you have power to the washer.

Kenmore Fabric Care 90 won't stop washing

It sounds like your timer motor may have died. Pull the knobs off the controls and remove the screws in the control panel to get to the motor. The motor is usually pretty expensive, so you might want to consider buying a new washer over replacing the timer motor.

Washer agitates, drains OK, but spin doesn't start

Timer is defective. Your unit has a netural drain. When finished agitating, the shuts down and then starts up reversing to drain and spin. On the initial reverse start, the water drains without the transmission spinning. After a timed period 3-4 minutes, the timer is supposed to pause, stopping the motor for a few seconds. When the motor stops again, the transmission shift to the spin cycle and when the timer resumes power tothe motor it should spin. You are doing the same thing when you lift the lid...stopping the timer and then the tranny shifts and when you set the lid down, the washer spins. Replace the timer.......
