Question about Sony Computers & Internet

I have a Sony Vaio VGNAR630E that i am trying to reimage, when i try to boot the PC an error message "OS not found" is displayed. removed and formated the HDD and naturally it displays the same message. when i try to install windows it cant find a HDD to install to. i have tried about 10 different HDD in the PC and it wont recognize any of them. brought up the bios page and the HDD drives are not there either. any ideas?

    the PC will not even recognize that either HDD is installed in the PC to try to install or repair anything

Did you try the F8 on bootup with the original hard drive in
this option gives many options of repairing or re installing os

When I try to usb boot my vaio vgn-fw270j it says "ntdlr is missing" though I can succesfully USB boot from another laptop... The BIOS settings are correct. "enable external device"...


the problem id is in your vaio vgn-fw270j, remove the battery and install again then power on..if the problem is still there. apply the procedure in to the HDD.. hope this will help..

Vaio operating system not found.


first check that your hdd is detecting by your laptop.
i think you have removed mbr master boot record from your hard driver the soution is to create master boot record in your harddrive by using mbr commands.

try to remove the ram and c-mos battery and repalce it again...the try to boot the system....if it boots and shows some error let me know...else if it doesn't boot...then it goto b motherboard problem...contact intel via mail support....

Get error message "operating system not found"


Run diagnostics on the harddrive. if possible reseat the Hard drive, i.e take it out and put it back again. and then try installing the OS. remember you have to boot from the laptop to install OS. Hope you are doing it correctly

Try rebooting and hitting the F8 repeatedly as soon as the boot sequence starts. When it comes up to an options screen select repair. From there you can let windows try to repair or select to install to the factory settings.
