If you have a continuous BEEP on any channel, maybe the seller has just wiped the CH Memory before selling to you. Just reprogram.

If you mean you cant program because software says (Check COM port and settings....) check your COM port selection, Be sure you have the right software.
(Each Radio model has is own programming software).

Also, check if you have voltage at the jack when using a Serial Cable.
Some radio wont program because the regulator for External mic is dead. When there's no voltage available to feed the TTL-RS232 Converter in the cable.
If no voltage is present at the side jacks, no external microphone will work and you'll need to use a Selfpowered USB Cable to program.

If you have not resolved this problem yet. I fear that your radios may have a CPU problem. in any case here is a URL that explains how to program your radios. http://www.repeater-builder.com/kenwood/field-programming-tk-x70.html

Typically, you need to take a radio with a password to a dealer who has the Factory software. They can get past a password issue using their Kenwood software.

Generally due to power low. It may also be a PPL issue, this should be checked out by a radio repair shop. Did you get the set wet or damp?

Your best option is to replace the battery pack. You can get them at many/most Amateur Radio stores. You might also try re-attaching the pins (or even fashioning new ones) using "JB-Weld" epoxy. It's really tough stuff and once it has setup (read the instructions and follow them precisely) you can use a file or other tools to form it to the shape it needs to be.

I'm tryin' to programming kenwood tk 2107 by kpg55d, when i press read data from radio gives me check connection error? please give me help

Hi,

To help you find a solution, you will require the user manual for your radio, if you don't have a copy then try this: join yahoo group SPECIFIC to your radio Make/Model, there is a wealth of info there and you may be able to download manuals, schematics and other stuff for your radio, if available and all this is free.

I hope this helps you to find the solution.

Peter

We have 8 of these motoroll talkabout radios (unsure what model maybe MJ series?) we use here at school for evacuations. Today on 3 of them when we used the PTT button the radio turned off. Does anyone...

This is typically a sign of a bad or low battery. Try swapping the batteries with a known good unit and see if the problem goes away. If so, replace the battery pack. If it is not the battery, the radio has a deeper problem.

Best regards.

Hi there i have a strange icon in one of my radios

The icon you are describing is the "roger beep" icon. It would not be the reason your radio is not transmitting. Most likely your programming has been changed. Here is a link to the manual where you can read how to program the radio's frequency and interference eliminator code. http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T5320_T5410_T5420_User_Manual_E.pdf

Roger Beep/Talk Confirmation Tone
When you turn on this feature, your two-way radio transmits a unique tone when you
finish transmitting. It’s like saying “Roger” or “Over” and lets others know you’re
finished talking.
• To enable Roger Beep/Talk Confirmation Tone, press and hold + (plus button) as you turn
your radio On. Now, when you release the PTT button, your set tone lets your
friends know you’re finished talking and will appear on the display.
• To disable the Talk Confirmation Tone feature, turn your radio Off and then back
On while pressing and holding the + (plus) button.
