The dryer is not giving any heat.

Sounds like the heating element has burned out. If it's an older dryer then that's probably the case. If it's newer I would check the warranty.

Dryer not drying clothes, have had a small load in for over 2 hours still wet....

Hello s cissy. If the clothes are hot but not getting dry you probably have lots of lint accummulated in the vent pipe which is stopping the wet air from escaping to the out-of-doors. To solve this pull out the dryer, unplug it and then disassemble the vent pipe from the lower back of the machine. Clean out the inside of the pipe and the interior of the machine where the pipe connects.

If the clothes never get warm to hot, then you most likely will have to replace the heating element. Get back if that is the case and we can talk you through that repair. Joe

My fisher paykel dryer is 3 1/2 year old. It works fine on med and low heat. On high heat, it heats up too much and turns itself off

Fisher paykel smartload dryer degxius does not dry cloths. Drum is hot, and lint basket is empty. I have cleaned lint out behind lint basket.

Check and make sure that your exhaust tube and outside vent are not clogged. If they are clean them out and you may have to buy and new lint screen that come with a seal whcih will solve your problem. Go to http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/ . This forum will further help you through your problem.

My fisher paykel DEGx1 dryer top load is only blowing cold air

Could be something simple like a limit popped due to clogged vent or a open heating element. DEGx1 Service Manual

DEXG1 not getting hot

Must be some sort of duct fuse... let me check my f&p manual...
Good news I see where a manual reset limit is on page 22. Let me see if I can find where that ****** is located. Never know when Alabama power company might want me. Old folk gotta stay sharp. The manual reset button is located on the heating element housing.

My DEGX1 WILL ONLY AIR DRY NO HEAT ...VENTS ARE CLEAN

Heating element is probably fine. I had this problem repeatedly shortly after I purchased the machine. Remove the screws on the top of the machine by where you load it (1 on each side). Lift top front up a few inches to allow for the front panel to be removed or leaned forward to access front of inside of machine. After front panel is out of the way, locate the red button. Push it. You have reset the fuse for the heating element and the dryer will now produce heat.

This will likely happen repeatedly. Mine was happening abouut once a week. Eventually, I discovered that FP dryers are very sensitive and that they will only push their exhaust so far. Anything more than about 20 feet and the machine will think the line is blocked and will trip the fuse on the heating element. I purchased a part from Lowes (do not recall what it is called) that is essentially a self contained dryer vent. Its a small box that hangs on the wall right next to the dryer. Run the exhaust tube into the box which is has an inch of water in it. water collects the lint and the hot air escapes from the vents on the top of the box.

Never had the problem again.

My dryer is blowing cold air and not drying at all

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.
