You don't say how often it goes to sleep. There are setting that you can chage. Go into control panel and look for Power Options. there you can establish when the monitor and hard drives shut down. its a good idea to allow monitors to sleep after about 2 hours of inactivity. If you need more help just contact me.

You need to change the power plan in control panel so it does not go to sleep or hibernating too often after a while idleness.

My HP monitor keeps going to sleep,it reads (power button lockout) How do I fix this?

This is because the monitor's Power Button Lockout function is enabled. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to unlock the Power button function. Your sleep problem should also be related to the lockout issue.

My HPw1707 monitor keeps going to sleep and I have to turn off the computer to get the programs to open when I want to work on anything.

Are you saying that the monitor is going to sleep or the computer? If the computer goes to sleep I can understand not being able to get to your programs. This is a simple matter of turning off hybirnate in the power supply icon of your control panel. If the monitor is going to sleep there should be a menu with a timer for sleep time. Just change it to a much longer time or turn it off.

My computer keep shuting saying monitor going to

start button >settings >control panel > Power Option > set time for monitor to sleep if inactive...if you dont want the computer to sleep go up to the hibernate tab and uncheck it. If you want the computer to stay on regardless, move all drop down menus to "never" instead of a time.
