Question about Garmin nuvi 255W GPS Receiver
I guess you will need to update the firmware if pressing the reset button does not fix it. If there is a little hole on the back or the bottom of the device you can stick a paper clip into it for like 1 minute or two and restart it and see whether the error message disappear. If the issue persists, you can download the correct firmware of that device from Garmin web site and then connect the device with your computer and run the firmeware updator software. You can get more detailed information about the steps on the Garmin web site. I think they have some chat support professionals who can walk you through the process.
You can try the following link for updating firmware and software.
