Anything can be repaired, but the question is..cost. I would start by calling around and finding an appliance repair shop, ask them how much for a used dryer motor. everything else should be fine. Hope this helped Tim

Basement flooded. Now, why can't I get it to turn on?

Open up the dryer and inspect all electrical components located closest to the floor. Some will have shorted out and may even still be wet. It may be more economical to replace the dryer rather than attempt to repair it.

Why wont the motor on a top load roper washer work after a flood

If the motor was submerged in water it's probably shot. They aren't made to function during and after exposure to water.

Dryer wont start

In the lower part of the dryer you have wirings, the motor, and often also an elecronic module, that also works at 120V, if water had reached one of this parts while the dryer was hooked to powe, it must have caused a short.

The appliance must be taken apart by a repairman, and the part that has shorted, replaced or repaired.
