Question about ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK Netbook

Can't increase brightness, pop-up for brightness control does not appear when you press Fn and F6 only when Fn and F5 but the brightness is at minimum.

You need to install the hot key software. You can also change the brightness by going to power options.
It's the driver is available at http://uk.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=IGLKH3VUoGlp8KE1 it's the 1005PE version but it works fine, just go to the download tab & select the OS you use.

No display


The following applies to Acer Laptops...

If the power indicator is lit but nothing appears on the screen - The computer's power management system automatically blanks the screen to save power. Press any key to turn the display on.
If pressing any key does not turn the display back on, check the following....
1. The brightness level might be too low. Press Fn and the right cursor key to increase brightness level
2. Display device might be set to an external monitor. Press Fn and F5 to toggle to the internal display
3. Backlight might be turned off. Press Fn and F6 to turn on the backlight.
4. If the Sleep indicator is lit, the computer is in Sleep mode. Press & release power button to resume.

Power is on but no signal output to the screen


The following applies to Acer Laptops. You did not specify the brand of laptop you had. If your laptop is not Acer, the specific keys mentioned may be different and you should adjust accordingly.

How to adjust the brightness on my sony vaio pcg-k17?


To adjust the brightness control, press Fn + F5 and release, plus the RIGHT ARROW or LEFT ARROW keys to increase or decrease the value.

On most notebook computers you can use the Fn+F5 keys to lower the screen brightness level, and the Fn+F6 keys to raise the screen brightness level.

My lcd is too bright


Screen Brightness can be adjusted in either of these 2 ways....

1 Power Options(Start >Control Panel>Power Options)

Or by presing FN+ F5and using Function Key (FN) + F5/F6. F5 will decrease the brightness, F6 will increase it...

If neither of those work, Click
>Start
> Preferences
>Power Management

What are the functions of the keys on the dell 1745. F1, F2, keys with the symbols above them?


Fn + F1 Change Display Device. Fn + F2 Wireless Control Fn + F3 Battery information Fn + F4 Decreases brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor). Fn + F5 Increases brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor). Fn + F6 Keyboard backlit(available only if a backlit keyboard is installed) Fn + F7 Mute Fn + F8 Decrease audio Volume. Fn + F9 Increase audio Volume. Fn + F10 CD Previous - Play previous media file. Cant turn the brightness down on my asus netbook


You should be able to use the "FN" key and "F5" key, press and hold the "Fn" key then while holding that key, press the "F5" key to decrease the brightness. Use the same(Fn) key and "F6" to increase the brightness.
