Wiring change from Fender

Standard J-Bass wiring is parallel. Not series.

To run the pickups in series, the ground of one pickup would feed into the hot of the next. That's not what comes from the factory.

Im getting an annoying hum from my squire deluxe active v bass how can I fix this?

There are various things that could be causing the hum, best to start out on the smallest thing and go from there, could be dust gettting inside the volume or tone pots, check the ground wire that is soldered under the bridge plate to make sure it has a good solder and is not loose, etc. if all else fails, a quick fix is to place black electrical tape across the pick-ups, this will knock out some of the hum and help ground the instrument somewhat.

Bass feed bacl help

The ground wire inside the bass is loose, not connect, or not connected correctly. Make sure it goes to the CASINGS of all the kobs, the switches, if any, the negative side of the plug socket, and under the bridge. All of these surfaces should be grounded together, the connection under the bridge is necessary to keep from looping the ground with your hands.

I'm looking for a wiring diagram to replace a jack socket for a peavey void 4 bass

If it is the socket on the bass, it should only be 2 wires, on the 2 ears of the socket. He must have soldered it to the wrong place. The wire from the pickup switch(if more than 1) or the volume(if only 1) should go to the part of the socket that touches the tip on the guitar cord when plugged in. The other is ground and connects to the backs of controls and switches throughout the instrument, even to the bridge and tailpiece.

I have and old Peavey Mark IV bass head. I want to know if it is possible to remove the crazy 8 or 10 pin footswitch input and replace it w/ a 1/4 in plug. There is only two wires running to this craz

2 wires plus ground needs a stereo 1/4 plug. Don't know Mark 4, but Mark 3 has 2 button fs with 3 wires plus ground. Schematic here:
shows 3 wires plus ground. Stereo plug does not have enough connections, only ground plus 2 wires.
Count the pins of socket and find DIN plug with proper pin-out for socket. Search google for DIN plugs.

Buzz on treble tone knob?

Tone pot should only have 2 of the 3 lugs with connections, one of which should go to ground or to the capacitor that goes to ground. If by "double wire" you mean shielded cable, the outer 'wire' is the shield that should be grounded at one end at least, probably to the back of tone pot.

I have a older dimarzio paf i think its a fred ?with one bare wire a red and a white i need a diagram to put in a strat at bridge

I don't know about this specifically, but my general advice is to use the Dimarzio site and forums for info. The bare wire will be ground/earth and the red is hot. It simply goes to here the original one went in the guitar.

Changing the output Jack on 1985 Peavey Dyna Bass

If this has active circuitry, one of the wires is the cutoff for the power supply from the battery. The other two are black for ground and either white or red for signal.
