Hi there, The power cable for my laptop has suddenly stopped working, and when I plug it in it makes a strange electronic pulsing noise. Is this fixable, or will I need to buy a new cable? My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L300D-242, the power adapter model is PA3516E-1AC3. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend getting a new one. Power adapter's die more often than you'd think and a problem with power supply could permanently damage your laptop. They are reasonably priced online and even sold on places like Amazon.

I plugged in the device and it worked for 3 seconds, then power shut off and a strange noise came rom the back consistently? what do I do now

hi good day, it sounds that their is bad parts which need to check at the power supply section of the unit. you can check the primary capacitor or a shorted regulator transistor. but make sure you have knowledge in basic electronic repair so you can perform this checking.

Engine stops suddenly

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty pulse coil.
8. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
9. Faulty ignition switch.
10. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
11. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset
Good luck and have a wonderful day.

Hi, My Aria AS-690B Sinsonido has started making a strange crackling / low grumbling noise when plugged in. It still plays well, but the noise gets very much in the way. It sounds electronic. Any ideas...

First thing is to check that batteries are good. Next, verify your guitar cable is a good one... some are microphonic and the cable can actually insert noise into the signal. The plugs on cables can sometimes be noisy as they move while playing. Try to keep the guitar from "hearing" the amp as it can create feedback. Verify the amp itself isn't the source of the noise. Try a different guitar. The input of the amp is grounded by a contact when cable is removed, If there is a problem right in the input stage it can be masked. Plug only the guitar cable into the amp... Is ti quiet? If so make sure to try the first few suggestions. ALso be aware of other noise producers like fluorescent lights an dimmers... these generate electrical noise that sensitive guitars can pick up.

Hi, my logitech g25 wheel was working great on gran turismo 5 up until now. Plugged it in today and noticed the shifter isnt even powering on, plus after a few laps the pedals have stopped working aswell,...

If you haven't rechecked all your connections I'd give that a go. Pull them all out and plug them in again to make sure they are tight. Also make sure none of the cables has been squashed or crimped in any way. If that doesn't fix it then you probably have bad electronics inside and the wheel might need replacing.

My power supply just stopped working!

Hi there,
I too have a dell laptop that the power suppply died on as well.
Is it making any noise or is the indicator light turned on?
The internal electronic components wear out.
Unfortunetly are un repairable. I definetly have pulled one apart and tried to repair it but its not worth it as they mostly are all sealed now.
If the power indicator light is on use a multi meter to check the output on the laptop side of the plug carefully, Remember they still hold a decent amount of power.
If there is no output there are a few options you can follow,
a) Ebay ie dell d600 charger,
b) Local electronics stores,
c) Dell geniune.
d) or find a car travel adapter that you could use and buy a 12volt convertor to run from your mains wall plate.
HOpe this helps,
Cheers
Steve

Computer won't stop

Hi ashbadash93,

I have had similiar issues in the past. Try powering it down by un-plugging it from the back of the pc, wait at least 2 minutes before plugging it back in. After 2 minutes, plug it back in and power on the pc. Sometimes this helps.
