The most possible cause is the power switch. You will just need to replace the complete switch with a new one.
Sometime if you play with the switch on and off can work for a wile but in any case you will eventually need to replace the switch.
We have consider that you don't have any problem with socket or fuse and that the power cable have not any visible damages.

Hello,

This is a pretty common problem on the Guardian, and it's usually caused by 1 of two things. Both are pretty simple fixes. The first thing you should try is simply eliminating the wand assemblies from the vacuum cleaner. So remove the hose from the upper wand, and disconnect the lower wand from the power nozzle. Now try connecting the hose directly into the power nozzle and turn on the vacuum cleaner, and power nozzle. Does it work? If yes, then one of your wands has gone bad, and you'll need to replace it. Here's a link to the wands on our website if you need purchase a new Guardian wand;

If the power nozzle still won't come on, then you may have a much simplier problem. This is either a terrible design by Aerus, or they knew this was going to happen, and made it this way so you'd have to take your machine into to have them service it. It's a very simple problem usually.

Look on the neck of the power nozzle. You will see a small circle indent on the front part of the neck located underneath of where the wand connects into the neck. This is actually a cover that hides a screw below. Simply use a small flat head screw driver, and pop off the small circular cap that hides the screw. There is a Star bit screw underneath. I believe it's a T15, but it may be a T10 sized screw. Use I believe a T15 Torx screw driver and remove the screw from the neck.

Once the screw has been removed, Use a flathead screw driver, and pry the front cover of the neck off. It shouldn't take a lot of force, and should come off pretty easily. Once this has been removed, you should see to metal pins, and two lead wires. What happens is the lead wire becomes disconnected from the metal pin, which then prevents the power nozzle from turning on. Simply reattach the lead wire into the metal pin, and snap the front cover of the neck back on. Put your screw back in, and your screw cover (or you can just leave this part off, you'll probably be having to remove it frequently to reinstall the lead wire, lol).

If neither of these two problems fixed your machine, then it sounds like you may have a bad hose assembly. Hopefully this isn't the case, and it's usually not. 9 times out of 10, it's just the lead wire that's come loose. If you do however need to buy a hose, here's a link to the Guardian hose on our site;

I have a Guardian that we purchased maybe 10 years ago. The swivel joint connecting to the brush head has worn and the brush does not operate unless you turn to extream angle. How do i resolve?

If this is the same one as what is pictured in the picture next to your description, then this is a common problem.

For starters you will want to disconnect the power brush from the wands or poles.
Look on the neck piece, towards the front of the neck, you are looking for either a screw, or a round cover. If its a round cover, you want to remove it to reveal the screw, and then remove the screw.
Once the over is off you should see 2 wires, brown and orange. They should both be connected to the pins for the electrical connection on the power head.

What I suspect here is that the wires are 1) off 2) broken. If they are off, just replace it onto the pins and your good to go. If the wires are broken, you will have to fix those wires. Fixing the wires is not so bad, you do have to make sure there is no exposed wire when your done, however, soldering them and taping them is not uncommon.

Good luck,
Mark

I have a similiar problem, but LED light does not flash. I have determined it is a short in the hose wire. THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS MODEL OF ELECTROLUX. I'll never buy another Electrolux product.

A sock is stuck in the nozzle. won't come out . how do you take it appart?

Remove the power head from the wand. Turn it upside down on a table or counter. There are 5 screws to remove to take the head off. There are
3 on the long part just in front of the brush roller and 2 more on each corner of the short part. Once you have the hood off you will be able to remore your sock, then put back on the hood.

How do you access the belt on the electrolux guardian

Flip the power head upside down and look for 5 black screws recessed in the bottom of the head...2 mid way back and 3 along the brush area. Once removed the lid should lift off. Be careful not to disturb the wiring harness.
The brush roll has a pulley and bearing end. Both should be cleaned and any hair or thread removed. The motor screws will have tensioning positions for the new belt so leave enough slack so the new belt depresses slightly. You will find a replacement at vac shop or thru AERUS Electrolux dealers

Just bought new power head electrolux guardian and

Did you get new wands with the power nozzel? The wires that power the nozzel run through the wands from the hose to the nozzel.The connectors at the end of the wires are fomous for getting too big and making a bad connection. This causes the on/off problem. This will only get worse if you continued use. The wires in the hose handle, the hose and the power nozzel elbow can all be changed out. You will not have to replace the hose handle or the wands unless the plactic has been burned. (A loose electrical connection causes heat). Take your hose,wands and nozzel to the shop for repair. Don't let the sales/service manager tell you that you need new parts until you can see the parts are bad. I think they saw you comming when they sold you the new nozzel.(just my opinion)

The brush on the power nozzle N137P does not rotate on my Guardian and I can't get it apart to see if the belt is broken.

First of all, have you tried pushing the reset button?Do you hear the brush motor come on when you push the switch on the hose? If the belt is broken the brush will spin freely without any resistence.
The elbow of the power nozzel has a history of breaking and one or both wires in it will loose connection and the motor will not run.
There are five screws on the bottom of the power nozzel. Four long screws and one shorter screw. Be sure to mark where the short screw goes for re-assembly. Then the top will lift off. You might want to take it to your Aerus/Electrolux shop for repair. Your Guardian should be under waranty.
