What do you you mean you HAVE a Phono stage? A separate phono preamplifier? Is IT working? NO output or LOW output? Name it.

It has one input and one output.

Rule of thumb - OUTs connect to INs

Kenwood turntable no sound?

Are you using a magnetic "PHONO" input on your amp/receiver, or just a line/aux input? The 'good' turntables from the 70's - 80's used magnetic catridges with a very low level output - you will need a phono preamp in order to hear the turntable. Only phonos (Crosly) that use ceramic catridges generate enough voltage without a preamp. Good luck and let me know if that answered your question.

PHONO PREamp. Does that suggest anything?

No picture necessary. YOU can see it. I can visualize.

Turntable to the Pre-amp IN. Preamp OUT to ANY available RCA input (usually AUX,).

How do i connect technics turntable model SL-QD33 to technics stereo model SC-DV290 and what do i need to switch to on stereo to play records.

Have a look on the back input panel of the sc-dv290. Check for a "PHONO" input. If there is no phono input it will not play turntable. If there is: then plug it the turntable in and switch the SC-DV290 to PHONO mode.
Another way would be to purchase a "phono preamplifier" from ebay: Hook the turntable into the phono preamplifier, and the preamplifer into the SC-DV290 AUX input.

Technics turntable plays but no sound with Sherwood receiver

The problem is the fact that the new receiver has no phono input. The phono input has an extra stage of amplification built in. Your receiver is working fine. You need to purchase a phono pre-amp. These run around $20. Connect the turntable to the preamp and the presmp output to any line level input on your new receiver and everything will work as expected.

Do not connect your PC output to the Phono input, it is a mismatch. Thye output from the PC will be "line level" or the same level as tape input, aux input, CD input etc. The phono input line contains an extra stage of amplification required for turntables. If you attempt to use that input, you will fry it. Any of the other inputs on the receiver will work for you.

Hi...
The aux wont work on a TT . You need a turntable pre-amp. Then you can plug it into the aux jacks.

Please let me know how your turntable is connected to the music system. I mean, to which input ? (Tape/Aux/Phono/VCR/CD) ?
