Here is the simple test to detect hardware malfunction.
on every monitor these days whether its CRT or LCD already programmed inside self test.
detach your cable data to CPU and power on your monitor. if its displayed self test on your screen mean its OK and something wrong with your CPU, could be VGA error.

if its just black display mean some is wrong with your monitor.

if you post more detail maybe we in FIXYA could help.
thanks.

I cant really explain it properly but all it was is it was working last night and when i turn t it on this morning just no display picture it goes to display it but just says "no signal check connection" but i noticed the power cable in the monitor isnt that stable and the slightest nudge can cause it to loose power and sometimes it sparks, could it of blown something you think? also when i turn it on and off it makes a little noise when its checking connection then just goes straight to standby its deffo the monitor cause my tv works and so does my old CRT

does you change the screen resolution last time?? :D
it mean your LCD not compatible with high resolution
    here my suggestion
    1. boot with safe mode
    2. change the screen resolution at display properties.
    3. reboot

    thanks using fixya.

It sounds like your video card has gone out. Is the VGA and DVI ports on the same video card? If so the card is probably bad.

try with DVI port and see it works or not.
if worked buy a converting port (DVI to vga) and connect you video card Via DVI
and connect your other appliance Via VGA port by that converter.

The complaint for this DELL E152Fpb LCD Monitor was when switched on has power (LED lit) but no display ti goes yellow on the power led but it brings no display on the screen.

It is standby mode, no signal, It is possible that your computer is not POSTing.
Connect your screen to another computer/laptop, just to make sure, which component is not working. Either the Screen or the Computer.
Make sure the DVI/VGA cable is firmly connected as well as RAM modules and Graphics Card.

Cant use TV as Computer display

If you can disable the blue screen via the tv menu you might see something happening behind that blue ,you might be able to figure it out from there, also try to connect as directly as possible (tv/computer) even if you have to physically move one or the other, that way you can eliminate possible problems. good luck

Samsung SyncMaster 215tw screen goes black after about 1 sec.

I have the same problem its defenitly a problem with the lcd monitor not with the graphics card nor the pc. I hooked up the digital and afterwards the vga connection both had the same result. 1 s perfect screen all visible but than black. pushing the on/off or standby button again shortly 1s the display works than it blanks. Did the same test while connected to a dvd player via the composite video... same problem . Since the previous posts are that old and without a solution I guess there is no hope in getting it fixed.

Hi...there,
It's seems you got a defective DVI card. Try using a VGA cable instead. Have nice day!

Dell 410XPs + Dell 3007WFP monitor issues

Vinod,
That's quite strange as during system startup you should see the Dell POST logo as at that point the card is only running at VGA, and the monitor will support display at this resolution. If you connect with a normal single DVI cable the monitor should display at 1280x800 also.
Have you tried this? Also have you had this monitor working on another computer at all? What happens if you power up the 3007 with no video cable connected? It should cycle through the pixel test screens. If you are not getting that, and you are not getting the pre POST logo during powerup i suspect that it is a screen failure.
