First of all, try rebooting. A simple restart, which you can do by unplugging the power supply and plugging it back in, can fix a lot of problems.
If a reboot doesn't work, grab your router manual and check what the lights at the front are trying to tell you. Almost every DSL router has lights that indicate whether there's a phone signal coming in, whether your settings are ok, etc.
