Trying to load wintv-usb, setup screen does not display all. Bottom of display does not show install, so can't load

Make sure the power supply is working. Quite often you get a pretty crappy power supply with USB devices, so that is what I would suspect. Its a 5 Volt supply, and should get a little warm if its working. I don\'t think this device will work without a power supply.

Those supplies are quite standard, so bring your old one to Fry\'s, MicroCenter, Radio Shack, Best Buy, or even Walmart or the other stores to compare Volts, Amps, and polarity/size of the plug to make sure you get one that will work.

Sounds like your having issues with your OS (windows or equivalent). This could be cause by virus/malware not being "treated" or with a critical update install failure. Do you have your OS original CD? Go into Enter Setup when the HP logo comes up by pressing the F function button it shows at the bottom of the screen under the HP logo. Look for Boot Options and make sure that your OS CD or bootable USB is the first one in the boot list. Save and exit. It will boot from your external drive (CD/USB key) and will you the option Repair. Try that and let me know!

1 many times the the CD cant load as the files in the CD are corrupt or the CD is not read by the drive corectly...so get a new WinXP CD
2 try an external CD drive if your BIOS alows to boot from USB drive....(connect the external CD drive to the USB and make necessary changes to the BIOS boot seq in the BIOS screen...
BIOS screen can be enabled by pressing the F1, or F2 or the Del key as on as you start the PC
3 once in BIOS screen look for boot seq and change the boot drive to the foll
1st boot device - USB CD / DVD rom drive
2nd boot device - internal CD rom drive
and so on

if you can do the above then try the WinXP installation using the external CD rom drive....
else there is a little complicated method of using a pen drive thru USB (will discuss that later) provided your BIOS alows booting from USB

Make sure you have the remote sensor plugged all the way into the connector on the card. Also check your taskbar for the "remote" icon which confirms you have "irblaster32.exe" installed.

be sure you have installed the driver. If you are using windows 7 you still need to install the winTV driver. I know this because I had the same problem. It should work then. Just go to TV setting in the media center setup and it should scan for channels.

Which software are you using please give the version

From the Hauppauge website:

Error Messages when attempting to run WinTV32 or WinTV2000: Error messages such as: "Error. Cannot locate capture filter", "Cannot build filtergraph", "Error connecting Vcap and HCWCap filters", "Error connecting preview pin" can be caused by bad driver installations. Run the latest driver on the Hauppauge WinTV-USB technical support page to fix this. This new driver runs HCWCLEAR first, and then automatically reinstalls the driver.
Aternatively you may receive an 'Initialization error HTV=## '. Please look in the Device manager to see if the Hauppauge WinTV USB is listed correctly in the Device Manager. If it is not listed properly or if it has a Yellow mark on it, the drivers should be reinstalled.
Also, look under Universal Serial Bus controllers in Device Manager and be sure that the "Universal serial bus controller" is listed correctly(not disabled) as well as the USB root hub. If disabled, re-enable, and reboot.

first down load the update. when you get that open the zip file. then look for hcw clear.exe and click it . it will clear every thing and ask to reboot. then cancel all devices found after reboot. open the folder and click hcw drivers install, when that is done then click setup. hope this helps
