Glad to help YOU!

Such problems are occurring often than you might think...! It's about:
1. a missing driver
or
2. a wrong electrical connection between your media and your motherboard

For the first case just right-click on MY COMPUTER > PROPERTIES > HARDWARE > DEVICE MANAGER and see there if not appears a device called UNKNOWN DEVICE and it has in front a yellow triangle. If so, right click on that UNKNOWN > PROPERTIES > UPDATE DRIVER. If this doesn't help, download Driver Magician Lite from HERE and install it (even on an USB key) and run it. It will discover the missing driver(s) and even it will indicate here to get it/them.

For the second case you have to open your machine and to check EVERY CONNECTION going from your CDROM towards the motherboard.

My best wishes!

Can i make a bootile usb for dell dimision 2400

If the BIOS setting for the Boot up device order does not have the USB as a boot up device then it is not possible to boot up your computer with an USB device.
For a Drive 0 seek problem -
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

Boot mngr is missing

do you have the set up installation disk

Restart your computer with the Operating system Setup disk in the CDROM drive.

If you are prompted to press a key to start the computer from CDROM, do so quickly. Otherwise it may try to boot from the hard drive.

After a few minutes, you'll see a prompt to press the R key to start the Recovery Console. When Recovery Console starts, it will prompt you to enter a number corresponding to the Windows XP installation that you need to repair. In most cases, you'll enter "1" (which will be the only choice). If you press ENTER without typing a number, Recovery Console will quit and restart your computer.

Enter your Administrator password. If you don't enter the correct password, you cannot continue. At the Recovery Console command prompt, type fixmbr and then verify that you want to proceed. Your damaged MBR will be replaced with a shiny new one, and you should then be able to boot your system normally. In some cases, you may need to repair the boot sector in addition to the MBR. If your system still doesn't boot properly, repeat the steps above, but issue the fixboot command instead.

Hope this helps

Gateway pentium 3 boots to where it displays cdrom drive infromation then it pops up a blue window asking for a pass code. What is the code it requests or cause of problem?

Sounds like a bios password thats only thing it can be pre-boot screen. If its a desktop you can dislodge the bios battery for about 3 minutes if its a laptop your kinda screwed. If you can prove ownership of the laptop then maybe Gateway has a master password work around.

Can I boot my e-machine M6810 from a usb cdrom drive? My build in cdrom fell apart and my usb cdrom works when the computer is on, but I can't seem to boot from the new cdrom I have tried changing the...

in short - yes! any e-machine, or indeed any computer build in last 5 years can be boot-up from usb port.

you need to enter bios and setu-up as first boot-up device "other", "boot from another devices", i do not remember which one is actually in this particular bios

plug in your external usb cd-rom, or indeed bootable usb-memory or bootable hdd and they should boot and work as they are on the computer.

another issue, internal cd-rom cannot be really disabled as only mechanical, external part stop working, it' logic part is still there and cmoputer therefore "see" it. you can disable it by downloading newest bios which have bit more power and tweaks than old one.

On boot up laptop states it can't find the operating system

this sounds like you need to repair the boot sector. this usually happens when a hard disks boot sector becomes corrupt or damaged. to fix this you must use the windows install disk to install recovery console. put the disk in the CDROM drive, reboot, (you may need to press F2 upon bootup to enter setup and choose to boot from the CDROM instead of HDD) once computer is configured to boot to the CD drive reboot and choose "repair" when prompted by the cd. once the repair prompt is up you must run the 'fixmbr' command which will copy boot files back to your computer. hope this helps. please rate me and thanks for choosing enterprise computing solutions.

A person has locked my computer and nothing will let me log on. it says it has a restriction and i dont know why and i cant seem to fix it.

Sounds like someone tapered with your computer while you weren't looking lol

You may need to perform a system restore to get control back.

You can restore the system by placing your windows CD in the CDROM drive normaly drive D:

Restart the computer

Go to your BIOS

Make sure the boot sequence is set to

1st Boot Device - CDROM D:
2nd Boot Device - Primary HardDrive C:
3ed Boot Device - Floppy A:

Or CDROM,C,A

then save and exit

restart the computer

you should see ( Windows is now starting your computer )

and the install process will begin.

once windows is installed and you've put your key in

you should go to the windows update site to download ALL critical updates and service packs

Then you'll want to load driver software for your computer,

Cd rw/dvd rw now working

If you know how to open your laptop, you can try seeing if the cable to the CDROM is connected properly. On startup, does your computer recognize the drive? If it's not the cable, you need a new cdrom drive.
