When it comes to the defrost system it ether works or it doesn't. Since your problem sounds to be intermittent I would look to the evaporator fan motor located in the freezer compartment for your problem. It may be operating intermittently as mine just did a few days ago. I replaced the evaporator fan motor and it solved my problem. I also thought it was in the defrost system.

The defrost timer is located in the refrigerator compartment top center. Turn the screw clockwise very slowly until you hear one audible click and it will be in the defrost mode. In 18-22 minutes the refrigerator should cycle back to cooling.

My freezer is freezing and the refrigerator is not cooling. The refrigerator runs all the time

If your refrigerator freezer compartment is cold, but the refrigerator compartment is warm--It could be a defrost problem. When a defrost problem occurs, it is usually the fault of one or more of three basic parts: defrost timer/adaptive defrost control, freezer thermostat or the defrost heater element. See in detail how to dx and fix: Refrigerator Defrost Parts .

Refrigerator won't shut off

And what are the temperatures in both compartments?Reason I ask is this could be either a defrost problem where there will be warming of both sides and compressor will run all the time because it cannot satisfy the thermostat. Do you have frost buildup on rear wall of the freezer like in this photo HERE? Or the refrigerator runs all the time and temperatures are too cold. This will be problems with the=> User Control and Display Board WR55X10684

Or the thermistors that measure temperature inside freezer and fresh food section. I can help you if you need to test or replace those parts. If a defrost problem the most likely part on your model is the=> WR51X10094 Defrost Heater

I will be here if you need help, Thanks Sea Breeze

There could be a large list of things that cause the freezer to warm up from the temperature it was before. The most likely reason is you probably have a defrost problem. Defrost heater, defrost thermostat and the defrost control are all things that may have failed. If your model is not a frost free let me know. Look inside freezer for a layer of frost building on the rear wall. If your refrigerator is not defrosting it will be a short time before the fresh food compartment begins to warm. To extend the time your refrigerator and freezer can keep food safe defrost by placing a bucket of hot water inside the freezer and close the door. Please place food from freezer and fresh food compartment into another refrigerator or cold storage area. By keeping doors shut as much as possible the refrigerator and freezer will last up to a week this way before defrosting again, Sea Breeze

What a mess. The instruction manual (really lacking in detail) does not have part numbers or model description. Excess moisture dripping in refirgeration portion of unit (top freezer; bottom...

Yes it could, you will have to check your defrost water drain, if its plugged defrost water won't go to condensate pan under unit, instead will make its way down to refrigerator section

Freezer is frozen fridge is warm

Your model is most likely the Profile Artica style. Most times the defrost heater is burned out behind the rear of the freezer wall. Manually defrost and look at the defrost heater to see if burned out. That model possibly has the glass covered defrost heater and will be easy to spot if burned out because the element is inside a glass tube, If you replace the defrost heater also replace the defrost thermostat, Please send me your model number located near floor of the fresh food compartment door seal and kick plate, Thanks Sea Breeze

Maytag model MZD2766GEB: Freezer compartment seems to be working fine. Refrigerator section is too warm. Moving temperature selector is ineffective. Do not feel any cold air blowing into refrigerator...

I believe your Adaptive Defrost Control found inside the fresh food compartment and behind the control panel is failing you. The part number is 61005988 If not this the defrost heater and defrost thermostat may be the next likely cause. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Refridg. compartment warm

You may have a problem other than in the refrigerator compartment.
I am in the U.S.A. and am unfamiliar with some of the brands posted on this forum. However designs of refrigerator freezer combinations have a basic relationship. Check your freezer compartment for a frost sign on the back wall. If frost is present on the back wall a defrost problem is evident. This type of problem can be related to a defrost timer, defrost heater or defrost thermostat. If you can located the defrost timer and rotate the dial clockwise SLOWLY until you hear one click. This will put the refrigerator into the defrost mode. After a time event of 18-22 minutes the compressor should restart. After 25 minute if it does not start advance the timer dial SLOWLY one more time and the compressor should start.
