You can try an reset it it worked for me...

Push your Avaya phone's "Mute" function.

Push the code 73738# on your device.

Push the number (#) symbol when you hear the prompt.

Push your number symbol once more to verify that you want to reset your Avaya system. When the message requests that you reboot your phone, do as it says, and push your # button to perform this task. Give your phone at least five minutes to reboot, as this concludes the entire process.

This is as a result of the phone processing power being too slow. Usually the unit processes the request to the intercom and as it does this if the system is too slow by the time the request is sent to the receiver you would have dropped. If the same happens when you get called from other lines on the intercomm then the problem is the general connection but if not and the problem only occurs when you dial out then it could be caused by one of the following either your unit is not properly connected or the unit in your office is bad internally...but this rarely does happen so it is more likely to be the connection cables. Get an expert to check it for you and correct the cable connection to avoid the delay in the transmission from one box to the other.

If the problem just started with the unit then it is definitely the wiring connection. The general connection is such that all lines are connected to a center switch board and if by chance inside the switch board some wires get to touch each other or one gets disconnected the problem you are facing could arise.

Did a little more research on your problem and i am sure the problem is from the switch board. This usually is the box where the connections to the various phone boxes meet themselves. The box has been compromised either by het from numerous cables or improper wiring as a result of wear and tear or being tampered. Get a phone expert to examine it.

How do you disable the intercom feature on an Avaya Partner 18D phone?

Unfortunately, you can not, as this would disable the ability of dialing other extensions, thus making the system useless.

You need the intercom buttons to transfer calls, so that is another reason.

I need to set the ringers to only ring at the two receptionist desks and not everyone else's offices. Please help! We have Avaya Partner 18D phones.

Partner ACS systems come with Centralized programming instructions. Most of them starting with Feature 00 Left Intercom twice and Right Intercom. When you dial an extension, the lights will be solid or blink according to how it's programmed and you press each button to turn on or off or delay ringing.

Your system administrator should have a book.

Avaya 18D unable to make outgoing calls

Sounds like you changed your line selection. Changing line selection on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

enter **
press the lit line in the order you want the to be used, i.e. line 2 then line 3 then line 4 etc.
enter ** when finished with line selection
.
Press feature "00" to logout
Hope that helps

Avaya Partner-18D office phone-After an intercom call, the receiver's phone rings

Try hitting the speaker button and intercom your boss. When you hit the speaker button to hang up, do you get the same thing? If not. It could be that the gray "clicker" switch that pushes down when you put the handset back isnt going all the way back down...

Let me know.

Ringer for Lucent Partner18D

Are you trying to change if it rings or how it sounds when it rings?

The phone you have (Partner 18D) can be used on several different Avaya phone systems that all program differently. To change when it rings, this would need to done in the system programming (not the phone) All the manuals are avaialble on Avaya's web site but you need to know which system you have before you can start searching. www.avaya.com
