My dryer stopped working this morning. The light to the on switch is "on," meaning it's red. But everything else looks dead: The start button doesn't have a light. And, the display panel is blank. Any ideas? Many thanks.

This advice is ONLY if the black reset button on back does not help, and ONLY if you have checked the overheat fuse in front and it is OK.

If it there is power in the system (red light on power swithch),yet the dryer does not run - with a totally blank LED screen (no error message), the controller board may be out. You can snap in a new one (remove the top of the dryer, take picture to make sure you know where the wires go) remove from clips n replace. Only thing, it'll cost you $220 to buy a new one. Try repairclinic.com - if it doesn't work you can return for full refund.

Ooops. This advice is ONLY if the black reset button on back does not help, and ONLY if you have checked the overheat fuse in front and it is OK. And make sure you turn off the power!!!

No heat in my gas dryer, ignitor replaced, and sensor dry level does not light? I miss my dried clothes!

It sounds like your thermal fuse blew which is very cheap and easy to replace. Unplug your dryer and gain access to the back panel. Remove the panel and locate the thermal fuse. It is usually a white piece of plastic about 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" long with two wires attached to it. (Generally located near the bottom left as your looking at it) Unplug the two wires and unscrew the screw holding it in place. Replace it with the new one and reassemble everything. Good luck!

Whirpool Fronload Dryer has power, timer cycles through, but it is not running. The dryer worked two days ago when I ran a load. I went to dry a load this morning and it turns on, everything lights up...

The reasons can be a fault on the program controller unit but as the door does not close the program also will not move further. This must be the clue to the fault. Remove and check the lock and the settings. manually close the door with force and see if the program cycle starts, if not check the door switch and the control panel. Also check for output when the timer counts down. If not the controller unit must be checked for possible problems.

sounds like the start windings are out of the motor. You may be able to reach in and turn the drum to get it started. 50/50 chance.

Check the door switch both mechanically and electrically, meaning make sure the tab or pin that activates the switch it not bent or broken off , and that the switch has continuity, check with the power off and use a self powered test light or ohm meter.

Dryer was working the just stopped and won't start back

check your main breaker box first, see if it tripped, if the breaker looks okay then turn off the breaker for the dryer and reset the breaker switch, if this still doesn't work then a fuse has popped on the circuit board.

Gas Dryer does not run, light comes on in drum, everything else is dead.

do you mean it doesn't heat or does not run at all. i would check the door switch, if its not running at all. try opening the door and push the door switch closed by hand, if the light doesn't go out replace the switch

Dryer won't Start

the problem might be the start switch itself. if the switch is going bad it could have either a carbon buildup on the contacs preventing it from starting (unlikely) or the contacs are wearing out and it is more hit or miss if it will start. as time goes on the problem will get wose
